Hello Rail fans. I have been a rail supporter for all my life. Had a few relatives who worked on the railways, most notably my Grandfather, who used to work the Holcome Brook to Bury line before and after the First World War. The line sadly closed in 1952(even before Beeching!). I was a member of the East Lancs Railway Preservation Society(ELRPS). I was one of the original members from Helmshore, before we moved to Bury. Joining the Royal Navy in 1977 put paid to that. I had a failed attempt to join Virgin Rail in 2000 as a driver, failed the Bells and whistles test! I found solice in Bus Driving, which I am now doing in the Scottish Borders. Looking forward to travelling on the rebuilt 'Borders Railway'.
