Did 56303 work in Yorkshire under DCR ownership?

A bit niche, maybe, but if anyone knows it’ll be this forum! Did 56303 ever work around Yorkshire whilst painted in its DCR Green livery? Logic says no, but I’m sure I saw a photo of it at York, and I think I’ve read that it was loaned to GBRf and/or ROG during this period? Thanks!

    KWVR NEWS AND UPDATES

That's a fair comment, but my point was rather that people often assume those 2MTs are more powerful than they are because they're a tender engine, but they actually have a similar tractive effort to a Hunslet 16" (as per Newstead, Ring Haw or Beatrice) and significantly less than say an...

    KWVR NEWS AND UPDATES

The 2MT isn't mega powerful anyway is it? Hence the need for a diesel on the back, and why the 8F was hired in last year to cover the Railway Children stuff, as otherwise the 4MT is the best they've got.

Bluebell Railway NSE Diesel Gala 4-6 September 2026

As posted elsewhere, when somebody questioned on Facebook where the class 31 fits in to the NSE theme, the Bluebell’s SM team have now said it was never meant to be exclusively NSE… which is quite a step down from what was originally advertised. I can only assume some planned guests are now...

    National Preservation Forum

I've only been able to get on it by using private browsing for about 6 weeks now. Tried clearing hte cookies but not willing to clear my whole browser cache as there are Pws saved that I don't think I'd ever be able to remember! It does always come up with an internal server error though,.

Which classes have worked a MK4 set in passenger service (aside from 89/90/91)?

Oh! I was convinced it was on a totally separate forum so didn't even check on here! Thanks! I was meaning just loco + mk4s + DVT but I'd be interested to see if anything unusual has done a drag!

Which classes have worked a MK4 set in passenger service (aside from 89/90/91)?

Thanks - I'd forgotten they work them in Wales. I believe I remember someone saying that in BR days, 31s and 47s may have done so due to the 91s being grounded but I can't remember the detail or context.

Which classes have worked a MK4 set in passenger service (aside from 89/90/91)?

I asked a similar question on another forum about 10 years ago and I remember the answers being quite interesting but can't find the thread now as that forum's had a number of re-launches. Aside from the obvious - classes 89, 90 and 91 - and the 43s acting as DVTs, which classes of Loco have...

Least reliable diesel loco in preservation

31452? Did it now?! I wondered why we hadn't seen it out in a while. 58023 gets my vote - it only does galas and I don't think it's made it through one yet.

    Worst/best preservation liveries?

Speaking of awful liveries, can anyone tell me what's the deal with D9553, currently visiting the NYMR for the gala? The body's in a sort of desert sand yellow, the cab's in what appears to be a mint green undercoat. It looks awful. On the subject of great ones, 50035 in Intercity was great...

    SRPS Class 37s discussion

025 is back in service but has only just completed some insurance runs, so they subbed 403 in just to be sure.

    WCR - Jacobite 2026

Do we know if a second set of coaches is planned to move up at any point? There was at some point talk that a schedule was in for an overnight move up to Tom na Faire depot but I think that was replaced by the move we've all seen footage of?

    Worst/best preservation liveries?

I'm a sucker for a steam loco in lined blue, so I love Hollybank No.3 at Chasewater, SECR 323 Bluebell, Caley 828 and there's also a railway, which I cannot for the life of me remember, which has a small 0-4-0ST (either RSH or HL I think) in a two-tone blue livery which I also really like.
