Thanks for these options. It is looking as if a return to Llandudno and then buses to Conwy and back to Llandudno Junction is the way to go. Especially as I have a Welsh bus pass.

I am planning a non weekend day trip from Wrexham to Llandudno by train, then by bus to Conwy and finally back to Wrexham from Conwy by train. What train ticket do I need? For example, is a return to Llandudno valid for the journey back from Conwy?

Caught the 17:30 from Glasgow to Crewe. Had a glass of wine, turkey rissole with roast vegetables, cheese and biscuits, a mince pie, a glass of port and a chocolate all washed down with a cup of tea. Although the rissole was disappointing, for £33.65 (advance with senior railcard) the journey...

Thanks for the info. I wasn't certain about which services were Pendolinos and which Voyagers. Also I thought that the offering on Voyagers was more different to the Pendolinos than no cheese and biscuits.

Been thinking about this some more. If I got an off peak return to Dunfermline is that valid via Glasgow? If so I could get to Glasgow on the Sunday, stay over night, buy a single Glasgow to Dunfermline on the Monday and then use the return on Monday to get back to Whitchurch.

Thanks for the quick response. Just checking I understand this fully. So within the month's validity for the return leg of the journey I could stop off in Glasgow a week if I so wished.

I hope someone can put me straight on breaks of journey with an off peak return from Crewe to Inverness. On the return journey from Inverness, can I break the journey overnight in Glasgow?
