Good news overall but I'd have like to see small tables added to the bays of four. Nothing huge that would slow things down, just a small shell to rest your cup/can on.

The only reason it would need to go via Hove would would be to turn a kettle via the triangle, but as it was duff-hauled (apparently) it would just complicate and lengthen the journey.

Don't they crew change at Preston anyway?

Although 377s are used now, last year there was about 60,000 journeys between "Brighton" (Brighton, Hove, Portslade) and "Portsmouth" (Portsmouth Harbour, Portsmouth and Southsea, Fratton).

When the 313s were still in service Brighton-Portsmouth Harbour was over an hour and half without a bog.

The "shop" is in the luggage area between the passenger seats and the driver's cab in coach G. The lady just served through the open door. The buffet bar remains closed.

It does like trying to make you walk, from St Pancras to Waterloo it says train to to Blackfriars then 15 minutes walk, Marylebone to St Pancras 30 minutes walk!
