Any word on when 008 or 001 or 003 is coming?

we know 002 and 005 are on test. i am guessing 006 and 007 are getting ready for testing. Not sure about 004

Could someone write a list of all the Class 456's and show which ones are in service, are being tested, ones which are still southern colours and one being converted. Like the guys do on the class 458 forum.

Since we are talking 3rd rail and OHLE. I thought would the 3rd rail be safe for at 50 years because the OHLE would be useful on mainlines and the 3rd rail would be used on branch line like the lymington line. its even more odd to see a one 458/0 on its own doing the reading line. I'm maybe wrong but because of reliability issues the 458/0 was always formed of 8 cars just in case one of them broke down which did happen often. I believe earlier in this forum someone mentioned on one the refurbished...

just to answer your quote. you take the spare 158/159 have it running on its own from waterloo to reading that would free up a 458/0 to go connect up another 458/0 and get them to run a busy diagram. south west trains could ask midland trains for a class 153 then that could run the lymington...

then why do they keep lending a class 158 or class 159 to first great western if they were desperate they could send that 158 or 159 to help the reading services.

When the class 707's take over the lines currently being taken by 458/5's. From what I hear the class458/5's will take over the reading line. if this is true will they increase the speed on class 458/5's from 75mph to 100mph

the guards do need training like the one on my train today. I was taking the 14:16 from Feltham to Whitton. when the guard decided to close the doors it was 14:14. when the train left the platform there a few angry passengers. whoops!

seeing the photos of 458502 it looks like its ready to come down to london to get tested on the Windsor/Hounslow lines. is it waiting for the another 458/5? or is there still work that needs to be done on it?
