I may be fond of the 455s from an enthusiast perspective - having been workhorses for the region they served - yet the commuter in me cheered when 701s started to take over their services

Just come back to this thread after a few days away from devices. Noticed now on a stopping service (around 18:45) that half of a 10-car set was missing at Wimbledon depot. Not sure if it's been reported in this odyssey of a thread, but if it has, I'll keep shtum.

I believe at Network Rail owned stations (and maybe other TOCs if asked), you have to sign in for safety purposes or whatever reason. If it's just a quick few photos on a phone, that can be quite annoying, whereas if it's a prolonged shooting session (especially with a professional camera) I...

It could be that, though I'm tempted to say the cutoff is a side-effect of the rolling shutter commonly found on cameras

Caught it passing the footbridge north of Leatherhead station:
