Thank you kwvr45. I assume then that a TfGM annual train card could be used with a normal, station to station, annual season ticket without the need to use a train which stops at the station (but does pass through) where the split ticket changes - 19c of the CoC?

I heard that it is possible to split an annual train ticket from Congleton to Manchester by having a season ticket from Congleton to Bramhall and then having a GMPTE annual traincard from Bramhall to Manchester (covering all Greater Manchester stations).
