I agree! Excellent smooth units, well built and I rarely feel/see any vibration or rattling issues.

Went on 168215 two weeks ago from Birmingham and I couldn't believe it when there were automated announcements (same as LM really)for each stop. I didn't think the 168s had this feature. Be interesting if the 168s came out in silver.

I too am not in favour of keeping them going really, but I keep hearing the ideas that they may move to Wales.

Wow, didn't expect Chiltern's 172 going down to LO. Although when GOBLIN is electrified, will they go to LM and replace some of the 153s or 170s there? Do you know which 170s would come down; I'll assume the older units although prefer the 2004/2005 sets as the cab ends with the new light...

Nice idea; bit complicated though I'd probably just take the additional 8 units! Although I've warmed to having a 172/2 set sandwiched between 172/0s at peak hours.
