Not done an update in a very long time, sorry about that.
Just thought I would post up a few additions I have for my layout, and I will get round to uploading a few pictures soon (I promise)
Anyway, the latest arrivals.....
Heljan 47508 'SS Great Britain' http://www.ehattons.com/33717/Heljan_UK_4791_Class_47_diesel_47508_S_S_Great_Britain_in_BR_blue_livery_pristine_/StockDetail.aspx A superb loco, one of the best I have in my opinion. Very heavy and pulls a good rake of coaches up the steeper of the two inclines on my layout, Superb.
To go with the 47, I have the following rake of Bachmann MK1 Pullman coaches. These all have lighting, and although not as bright as the Hornby Pullman coaches with lighting, I do feel these are a lot more realistic in terms of brightness.

My most recent purchase has been the Hornby Virgin Charter train pack and coach pack from Modelzone. The train pack was reduced to £89.99 and the coach pack £59.99.

The Mk3s are standard Hornby, pretty good, well detailed and run well, but I am very disappointed with the train pack, Firstly the 90 is still the very old model, no working lights, a pain to get inside to fit the decoder, lacks detail, but it is a good strong runner. The DVT is pretty well detailed and does have working lights, but it is very flimsy and the top is held on with 6 screws, a real pain. When removing the base it really does feel like it could snap at any point, but this does keep the weight down when it is running DVT first, as the 90 on the rear is doing plenty of pushing (which it does well, even up the inclines). The set also requires 2 DCC decoders, one to power the 90 and one to work the lights on the DVT. I do feel a bit let down with the 90, I was expecting much more from it in terms of detail, but then again, Hornby seem to lack well behind most other manufactures now.
A couple of other arrivals in recent weeks has been a Hornby EWS 08 http://www.ehattons.com/32150/Hornby_Model_Railways_R2934_Class_08_diesel_shunter_08865_in_EWS_livery/StockDetail.aspx which is a lovely model, far better detailing and runs very smoothly at low speeds, much like real life.
Finally, I think, is the Dapol Track Cleaner in Hattons Loadhaul livery http://www.ehattons.com/33336/Dapol_Model_Railways_B800Loadhaul_Non_motorised_OO_Track_Cleaner_with_motorised_cleaning_heads_and_vacuum_Loadhau/StockDetail.aspx which has not had to much use yet, but what use it has has been a success, very pleased with the results, even after reading about it derailing on point I found this not to be a major problem, run at low speeds I have found it to work well and has only derailed a couple of times.
Lighting has arrived for my station and I have constructed a couple of Metcalffe kits and laid some ballast. As mentioned before, I will try and get some pictures up soon.
