I'm going to be in Hexham next week for a few days, and will try and get some freight footage, does anyone know what times in the daytime hours the freight paths are in each direction? I seem to remember last year they went at pretty much the same time each hour, at least the ones towards Carlisle did.

Cheers

Stu.

I can't see any freight times, but have a feeling that it was about 20 past towards Carlisle.

When you click on the open train times link look in the top right corner and it says normal.

Click on normal and it will takes you to the advanced part (in fact the word changes from normal to advanced) which has details of trains passing through etc

Yes - empty coal trains tend to pass Hexham around xx10,
although of course they don't run every hour!
4S90, 4S12 and 4S08 (sometimes 4Z08) are the most reliable,
with 4S31 and 4S15 also running if needed.

In the eastbound direction, most daytime freights other than
6E62 and 6E65 are 'as required'

Unfortunately, the Seaton on Tees flask train (which heads
west in the 15:10 path) is not running at present, although
there is an outside chance that you could be luck and it
could restart next week.

If you want any further info on the likelihood of any specific train
running next week, feel free to contact me by PM...

Has it recently finished a block period of operation then? It was fulfilling its' usual Tuesday fixture up until the end of January. I figured that you'll have a fair idea, I can never keep track of when it is and isn't running myself!

The Northern trains (Seaton, Torness and Hunterston) tend to go AWOL for
a month or so every quarter; no idea why they operate in that way, though!
