18357 on the short 79/179s tonight. If its been on the same board all day its been on the 38s along with 20457 and would have done the first 300 out of CE this morning.

Does anyone know any details of the blockage of A586 @ St Michaels-on-Wyre & diversion of 42 Blackpool to Lancaster earlier today. I did witness a Lancaster bound 42 on the M55 near Broughton around 2pm.

Would imagine that it was an accident, the A586 is notorious especially at St, Michaels. I think it even made it onto a BBC program as Britains Most Dangerous Road?

16343 working out of Carlisle yesterday on the 554. Rare for this one to be here and not at Penrith.

Is the reason Stagecoach didn't divert the 42 from Poulton-le-Fylde to Lancaster via Shard Bridge due to the narrowness of the road or it was a quicker journey via M55 & A6?

I think Shard Bridge is OK? I remember well back in the mists of time with the old bridge, a lot of buses based round Lancaster & Morecambe all carried a circular sticker (around the size of a tax disc) on the drivers side window saying they were allowed to cross the bridge. The bridge has been rebuilt since, i think, so it's quite wide now.
This was a looooong time ago, mind, VRTs still ruled the roost! Mr Bonwick probably wasn't even around then.....

One step forward, two steps back for 30/31 again....
Not amused by the the lack of replacement like.

There is no need for a replacement as then they would be 1 bus on top.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
16338 on the 600 today and was on the duty that does a 94 in between.. never seen a decker on that slot.

20540/20944 & a UID Dart (34686 I think) on the 79's today. Normal for 2 Enviros to be off but 3 off including the spare 24122 is rather rare.

Was nice to have a low-floor decker for 'low floor' 30/31 decker slot!
Will have to see if we regain decker slot with Oly' or most likely just lose decker-slot completely now. Either way, it'll be steppy unless all MAN's want to miraculously want to be in service for a day(s).

Wordsworth 18356 parked up at the back of Carlisle depot.
Kendal's 47056 up for paint. 20994 and another B10M in the paint system too.#

"Unusual" allocations today were 34696 on 93 (62 branded), 34685 on 94 (usually 20904 for seatbelted school run), 20904 seemingly on 38's, and 34679 (usually on 38's) on 62's.

62 branded 34698 broke down on Botchergate just before 8 this morning, whilst on a 68.

It wasn't there last week, so I'd assume over the weekend, or yesterday.

From Stagecoach website:

From Monday 5th March, we will be introducing the following improvements to Route 104 (Carlisle - Penrith - Centre Parcs) and the 103 (Carlisle - Newton Rigg Campus).
  • The 104 wil now operate every 30 minutes between Carlisle and Penrith during the day Monday to Saturday.
  • Additional journeys to Newton Rigg Campus on University days.
  • Additional journeys to Castletown, Monday to Saturday.
  • The 214 journey will be merged into the new timetable and becomes a 104

how many of those 104 runs wil continue to center parks?
A usefull improvement Id say, but is there the vehicles to keep it low flør? As a regular CP Guest this is appreciated when traveling with luggage.

Is 18356 at Carlisle for a repaint?

Probably will just be repaint, but it would be nice if it did stay! 17017 isn't the best of buses for the new 104 journeys, would be nice to have 2 matching buses on there.

From bus & coach buyer:
Cumbria drivers are best
According to data from Stagecoach’s Green Road eco-driving system, its drivers in Cumbria are the most fuel efficient. In March 2011, the company announced it was installing the driver monitoring technology on its 6,500 UK buses outside London and that around 13,800 drivers were to begin using it.
The Green Road system is designed to encourage drivers to stay within a ‘green driving zone’ with those performing best getting the score closest to zero. Events such as harsh braking or acceleration carry one point each. A driver needs to achieve an average of two points or less an hour over the course of every ten hour block of driving to achieve the target. Drivers at Stagecoach's Carlisle/Penrith depot beat the target by 60%, with an event rate of just 0.8 per hour of driving, making them the best in the country. Drivers in Barrow, Lancaster, West Cumbria and Kendal also consistently perform ahead of the target. Stagecoach is targeting a 4% reduction in fuel consumption using the system.

The 104 extra runs will be operated by 17017 & 18357. When they are not available a Olympian will cover due to school interworkings.

ME based 47247 today had a different display to all of the other minibuses, it flashed underneath the destination the places on the way, via "place" are they bringing this back to ME rather than just having the destination and nothing else? i notice that all other depots have the places scrolling underneath and ME just doesnt?

No all Morecambe Destionation blinds are all static with no scrolling. 47247 Hasnt had its blind updated as when all where updated 47247 was of road with engine problems so never got done.

The 4724x Solos at Morecambe have Mobitech LEDs as opposed to the more normal Hanover examples. I expect that when the programming was updated the original scrolling was left on the chip and the driver 'dug it out' so to speak.

17017 and 18357 were out on 61's today with 20545 and 20994 going to Barrow with 47018 returning to Carlisle. Do not think 20994 made it all the way though.
