185 for me, nice seats, bright interior, oh, and they got rid of those damn 158s!! Suppose with them being my local train, i'm biased!

Jordy

185s for me too, especially in their new Transpennine Express 'Neon' livery. They look, and sound amazing. :)

I dont mind 185's but it has to be a 350 for me, ever since I went on my first one on a meet up I've liked them:)
Quiet with good acceleration and they seem so under-utilised they are still more or less new inside.

Why in 3+2 seating on a train do you need to get passed anyone? Alll 3+2 seating that I know of is facing another row of 3+2. So there is a big gap infront of you where you would normally have a table.

All Seating that is looking at the back of another seat is 2+2

Im not sure about that. Bins you get more leg room and better seats. Plus its more noisy (The silence of electrostars and desiros make my head hurt).

More leg room in a bin? You must have very short legs. I like the quietness of the 350 - plenty of peace for zzzzzz!

They are still a million times better than the 317, precurser of the bins.

Bring back our 310s! And the long rakes of Mk1 compos on the cobblers with roarer power...oh i'm dreaming again!

I get those dreams......especially at New Street or Fenchurch Street. Can close my eyes and hear them thrashing around, neither are not same without proper EMU's.

As for my favorite Desiro, well being from the South it would have to be the Wiltax Rail Replacement Bus........very comfortable and offers a nice leisurely ride. Lack of 1st class is an obvious problem though.

I'm short and find Voyagers are disgusting for legroom. But that's another story. I love the look of the 444s personally.

442s are excellent for legroom on the airline style seats. :)

Thats on the entusiast side - no offence, but alot of people fail too see units from the passenger side of things - which is what TOC's use... they dont really look at what the loudest is, they look for the quietest. They dont look for the best one for heads-out, they look for the safest, etc...

No offence, Tom :).

As far as i know you cant do heads out on 321s or 317s. But for comfort and such 317s/321s are better than your crappy desiros end of.

So passengers like 3+2 seating, low seats and no tables??? A 350 is 1000 times better to travel in from a 321....

321s are preffered by commuters-might actually get a seat. Have you seen the wedge on W99?

All the mod cons in the world are of little consolation if you are packed like a sardine against a door. I suppose that means u would say a 390 is better than a MkIII set as it has working aircon and powerpoints?

No MkIIIs and the later MkIIs are the best coaches the country has seen at will ever see. The main problem IMO with 321s is that they seem wrecked inside, they have low seats which are two small as it has 2+3 seating and inside 321s look a cr*p train....

Well desiros (Apart from 444s) have 3+2 seating. 321s have better seats hands down! and you have more of a chance of getting to work (Or w.e you wanna get to) without breaking down.

Desiros apart from 444s have 3+2? No, 185s have 2+2, as do 350s!

Or more correctly all desiros except 450s have 2 + 2 seating ;)
