I'm sitting in Southport station and on the Manchester line there's a 2-coach train which is mainly lime green with a blue band at the bottom and yellow doors. Numbers I can see are 57112 and 52112.

Just wondered whose this is as never seen it before.

Could be an ex London Midland 150? Oh wait, yellow doors? No idea then... :s

Sounds like an ex London Midland 150, now working for Northern.

I see that often when at Preston station and I'm sure it's gone straight past me at Wavertree Technology Park recently if memory serves me correct.

Former LM (Central Trains livery) Class 150, 150012, now operated by Northern.

No, this is the Centro livery (second version). I don't think Central Trains had a non-Centro livery for class 150.

No, they won't be replacing Pacers, more like supplementing them. They are not a Pacer themselves, they are part of the Sprinter family.

Network West Midlands? Or was that exclusively under LM?

Network West Midlands is basically a public facing brand name for Centro introduced in 2005, and this meant putting "n" stickers over the Centro logos on the trains. This would have been under Central Trains as London Midland came into being in 2007.

So NWM isn't a London Midland brand, nor is it exclusive to them as it includes all train, tram and bus operators within the West Midlands, but Centro subsidise many of the LM "city" services (as they did previously under Central Trains) hence the "n" logos on the trains.

I got 150118 from Stockport to Buxton on Monday - that one has 'Network West Midlands' clearly visible still on it.

To be fair, the trains with the "n" stickers on were regularly being used outside of the West Midlands county to places like Shrewsbury, Worcester and Stratford upon Avon anyway, I always thought it a bit pointless and perhaps confusing having that extra bit of branding on them.
