Because they are the most expsnive train to run, and there reiabliy has gone down hill in recent years, you can't expect 40 year old traction equipment to go on for ever.

surel you can fit new traction equitment to older trains?

especially if you believe the rumours of south eastern replacing all the traction equitment on the networkers with itachi equitment...

You can yes, but SWT have obivously seen that getting rid of the 442s and bring back the 458s is cheaper than fitting a new traction package, also there is no money in the budget to do anything to the 442s hence why there jsut having a repaint and traction motor recon!!

73201 took them today to Wimbledon for some sort of unit testing.

Yep, to test the Train horns at the Depot, coming back tonight back to Bournemouth 22+10 Wimbledon-> Bournemouth

At that time - it will be running just before the 2200 to Portsmouth Harbour and will arrive Bournemouth about 20 mins before the 2205 Waterloo - Poole arrives
