High Peak Motors is the same of a car dealership so surly it can't also be used for a bus company?

Does anyone know what the fleet list is expected to be for the new 'High Peak' operator?

I was under the impression that only the more Northern parts of Trent were to be involved in that merger. The last three items on the list in the first posting are only school tendered services, whereas Buxton seems to be a focal point for the Fairfield local services on the 185/186 routes.

The 199 Buxton to Manchester Airport is quite an impressive service to bring to a new group with services operating for most of the day and serving the Chapel en le Frith and Whaley Bridge areas before running into Stockport bus station and then taking the M60/M56 motorways from there to Manchester Airport.

The final service, TP, is the TransPeak service that currently has four daily services covering the Nottingham - Derby - Manchester route as an extension of an hourly Derby - Buxton service that runs during the main service hours. Again, Buxton seems to be the northern hub. This is quite a good link service as Belper, Matlock and Bakewell are all on the route of this service. I had to chuckle at this service being described as "Transpeke" in the first posting as this sounds like it covers the South Liverpool area...

Looks like Trent Barton are expanding a bit at the moment; they have just taken over the Felix route between Derby & Ilkeston (but not the Company, AIUI, Felix will continue to run excursions and holidays)

I don't think they'll trade as High Peak Motors so does it matter? To the general public it will just be High Peak

It often comes down to whether the company can be bothered, this is usually if theres the chance of a customer mistaking the company or if they consider it demeaning to their brand, courts usually rule in favour of the big boys unless the smaller firm can prove it used the brand first or theres a good reason (for example the owners name is the same as the brand name). Most smaller companies when recieving a cease and desist legal letter will not bother going to court, fighting the deep pocket lawyers of a multinational is rarely sane.

For example the Scottish burger bar which saw off McDonalds because the owners name was McDonald. Lacoste will sue anyone who uses a crocodile as a logo even if it doesnt look like their logo.

Can any company claim to own the sole legal rights to a single capital letter "R" when it is portrayed in the correct fashion ?

I can see the matter of a reversed capital letter "R" as being a symbol unconnected to this matter and a "logo" which could have legalistic protection.

Centrebus are now running the 19 to Oakham and Melton Mowbray. This was run by Veolia (Paul James Coaches), who Centrebus took over earlier in the year. Marshalls are still running the Fosseway Flyer (90).
