I'm not very well informed about this (and I suppose its all still TBC anyway), but do the Peterborough to Horsham services replace the current slow Horsham - London Bridge service?

I assume passengers from Horsham (and stations further south), Crawley and Three Bridges will still be better off (journey time wise) getting a London terminus bound quarry line train and changing onto a train that will traverse the core at East Croydon or London Bridge.

Am I the only one who thinks that it is unusual that Tonbridge apparantly warrants 4tph in peak periods and none off peak? :s

the 2 going to tunbridge wells are replacements of the current ones to cannon st, not sure about the ashford ones tho.

Just wondering if we could kinda get back on topic?

ktnx

ps. Bear in mind that there isn't a date on the map, so it could be out of date

My apologies for dragging your thread off topic :) however I felt it was important to separate the known facts from fantasy.

Retuning if I may to the EMT map for one moment, it would seem that all the Jacobs consultancy work for the future of rail franchising from March - November 2011 is also hosted on the EMT website, including swathes of stuff for the Thameslink Programme. My interpretation of this is that the EMT website is being used as a common storage space for a whole spectrum of industry documents and information.

It does not indicate that the documents are unofficial - if anything it nods to the complete opposite.

I also note Class 377/5 has not returned to substantiate their claims with facts yet. Any other postings before answering my points above with a simple "I am just regurgitating messroom chat" or "I am the new MD of the combined SN/TL/GN franchise, here are my credentials" (although we know thats false) will see me jumping in there to ask the same thing of them.

Apologies once again for ert47 for dragging your thread so off-topic.

The most detailed publicly available info I can find for the relevant group of Brighton Line services (the 4 tph via Redhill) is a service diagram in the 2010 Sussex RUS (attached below). It suggests different stopping patterns for the two services, it is the Three Bridges that seems to pick up most of the stops.

In the table I posted earlier in the thread the ex Horsham and Three Bridges services are described simply as being 'via Redhill' - the three current RUSs for the area south of the river give a better idea of possible station calls.

The text of the Sussex RUS confirms that these replace existing SN services as necessary.

Thameslink Completion : thinking of having a punt at Ladbrokes as to whether Thameslink will be finished before the sun flares up in to a Super Nova and incinerates the planet. My money is going on Super Nova status for the sun first.

It's lucky that Southern get on so well with the totally separate company that runs the Gatwick Express!

That letter I posted yesterday is the Thameslink project reporting to the DfT that the core route work wil be finished in May. Given it is already completely funded, why shouldn't the London Bridge and Bermondsey work be completeable by 2018?

Is that Thameslink 2000 ?

Would you be able to provide a link to this please? Sounds like interesting documents there.

That RUS diagram also shows all Caterham/Tattenham trains terminating at London Bridge low level rather than the EMT map and other notes of them going through to St Albans or WGC.

It seems the Horsham and Three bridges trains have a sensible split of stops - Three bridges picking up local stations north of Gatwick and the Horsham trains stopping only at Redhill and Purley. From my experience that is quite sensible with the possible exception of Coulsdon South which has a lot of passengers.

However timetabling that to get the trains 15 mins apart at London Bridge will mean an uneven stopping pattern at Redhill for example. The stopping though only adds about 6/7 minutes to journey time, and possibly less on these faster accelerating units so it won't be that bad.
