Broken down Virgin Pendolino at Stockport?

Hello again,
It seems this week has become one for unusual sightings for me, I was passing through Stockport at 16:40 today and as we pulled into platform 4 I noticed an empty Pendolino stopped on the furthest of the two lines to the side of the platform (Goods loops?). One more interesting thing is the information boards on the train doors said the train destination was Euston but the next stop was Oxenholme Lake District! Does anyone have any idea what was going on?

Hopefully this is related, my missis saw something Network rail liveried heading past our house (Holmes Chapel) heading towards Stockport at about 4 today.

Sounds like it was just a test trip from Longsight.

Aha! Quite possibly. Anyway, it was gone this morning when I went past southbound. Thanks

Two carriages of a Pendolino were hanging around at Longsight today. Not sure if that was related.

Probably the two 'extra' cars of 055
