Anyone want to put bets on any fishy "incidents" like the "torpedoing" of that S. korean Ship, to give the forces of democracy an excuse to Step In.

Actually, i don't see why there need by any Tensions or Uncertainty at all, since at least there won't be a Power struggle or splitting up into factions, which is what usually leads to trouble. At least that's one thing to be said for the dynastic style of dictatorship.

I am less sanguine about this. The "Great Successor" will have been supported by a faction which may or may not be the current strongest. There will be opportunities for other groupings to form. Whether this destabilises the country remains to be seen. Let us hope that the faction that eventually wins out sees the benefit of rapprochement!

While I would like to see Kim Jong-un end the state of war between the two Koreas and usher in democracy, I do believe the hard liners won't allow for that to happen and it will just be business as usual.

As a side note in the time period between The Sum of All Fears and Debt of Honor by Tom Clancy involving his most famous character of Jack Ryan, the two Koreas are unified as one, maybe real life will follow fiction....

Expresstrain, the "forces of Freedom" are generally only interested in easy victories, stand up to them and they think twice whether its N Korea's nuclear bombs or Russia's "carrier busters" as supplied to Iran!

My only comment on him is that the world's Brandy consumption will go down and there is one less nutter in the world.
