May I ask if anyone knows why the 17.18 Manchester vic to Leeds today (saturday) was formed of a single 150 (150206)? Surely it isn't booked for one as it was packed to the rafters (the doors locked 4 mins prior to departure!). Not helped by the fact that the preceding 17.00 to Leeds was formed of a single 142 and thus also packed to the rafters. When the dispacher shouted to move down the aisle one man shouted for them to put more carriges on instead, and I agreed*! Now I'm aware the timetable changes tommorrow so hopefully they'll be some improvement. Still disapointing though. *Yes I know they can't magic stock out of nowhere however there were enough of their 150's hanging round newton heath so they could have used them!

It may well be booked for a single 150 (I'm not sure), don't forget that it is Christmas soon and the trains will more than likely be busier than normal.

Rolling stock is not normally just "hanging around" it will be where it need's to be, either in the depot for maintenance, waiting to form a later service or a fault may have developed earlier and it had to come out of service.

Stock is allocated where it is needed it can not be zapped from Newton Heath it takes time and this would incur a delay to the service however I agree they should put more carriages on busy services
