For the time being 4 journey's a day will operate, two in the morning and two in the afternoon we will be activley monitoring this closley and have adjusted how its run so no delays can occur.

Is the new X25 routed from Horwich to Shudhill via the Trafford Centre?
Yes thats correct.....
Preston - Chorley - Horwich Beehive - Trafford Centre - Shudehill.
It is still in its infancy and finalisation so changes could occur but thats the general route were looking at, it will be though Limited Stop which we have yet to decide where especially along CNR in Horwich.

Two MAN related questions...
Where is the engine on a MAN 18.220?
Most of the time, like on 22817 tonight, it sounds like it's behind you, a bit like being on a double decker. The other night i was on 22813 (I think...), and it sounded like the engine was in front of the back seat (I was sat by the emergency door both times) in the centre of the raised floor- surely it can't have been, but it really sounded like it.
Secondly, behind the cab is a seat, and behind the seat is a luggage well over the wheel arch, with a box on to. What's in the box?

When you are sat at the back you are sat right on top of the engine. The box in the luggage area contains a ramp that can be unfolded and used to assist wheelchair users etc onto the vehicle.

Cor, that's an old picture. You can tell it's a looooong time ago as you can actually read the route number on the rear from across the road!
Ah, of course, they don't have a built in ramp, do they. Never seen on used on those, although i've seen them used on Tridents a few times.

Profile's at Lillyhall finally have "For X50 to Penrith" on them, as per picture below. Probably doesn't meet DDA destination size, but not helped by the Profile's having smaller LED's to everything else.
Not the best quality, but best I can do in the current poor light conditions and winter sun.

New buses with standard size LED screens would be the best way to get it DDA compliant

22104 and 22108 staying at Lillyhall now, with the 3 from Aberdeen having bike racks fitted for Kendal instead.
22104 was staff shuttle this afternoon, whilst 20910 was short 302, 16124 on 50 and 20913 on 51, pretending to be an off-roader again. Not ideal for old people getting on and off when the bus couldn't get to a raised kerb.
Displays on Scania's now have a gap between the "Maryport" and "For 302 to Carlisle", looks a hell of a lot better and clearer.

With the proposed X25 Preston to Manchester only being a limited service, why hasn't Stagecoach got a pool of Plaxton Premiere's instead of Dennis Darts?
Reason I am asking is that e.g. a Dennis Dart wouldn't be allocated onto a Keswick to Lancaster 555 service unless of a vehicle shortage. Also, due to the number of passengers, length of journey and a rather big climb out of Keswick! I hope you're getting the picture? I expect the bus would be crawling!
What happens if the X25 gets so popular that a Dennis Dart isn't suitable?

I would agree that if the R reg ALX300s are solely for the X25 then they will struggle.
In terms of capacity I believe the reason for the X60/61 been withdrawn is that it is not viable due to low usage. I would therefore assume that it is anticipated that the X25 will not be used that much. Also only doing 4 journeys a day suggests they expect low usage.
If for some reason the X25 becomes hugely popular they can either increase frequency and get more darts in or upgrade to a full single decker etc.

Didnt the ALX300s start of at S reg, the B10ms finished on R reg.

The ALX300 started off on R reg B10BLEs, the first ever being 21136 (R236 KRG) for Busways.
The first MAN ALX300 was 22913 (S913 CFC) for Thames Transit (ie. Oxford).
The last B10M/PS built was 20392 (R792 DHB) for Wales.

The darts are not for use on this service and would only find themselves on it for operational reasons which would be serious enough to warrant it.

Why hasn't it been considered for the X25 to serve Bolton as hardly ever I have travelled on the X61 has it stopped in Horwich.
Yes thats right, as for Bolton..First are running between Bolton and Manchester every 7 mins or better so we wouldnt run on their patch, also Stagecoach Manchester run the 22 service between Bolton and Manchester.
