The LDBs suggest that the 20:10 Glasgow to Crewe is extended to Euston via Birmingham. Having departed some two hours late, I hate to imagine what time it is expected to arrive into Euston!

04.12 at the moment, but every time I click refresh it ticks on another minute...

It should be in Wolverhampton by now but it hasn't reached the border yet.

I imagine Virgin must have had a hefty taxi bill today, given that many of their Scotland-Birmingham services didn't reach New St and many customers connect for the SW and South Coast services.

Indeed. Virgin will pay for taxis and hotels directly, and thanks to delay attribution Network Rail will end up paying the bill by reimbursing Virgin. In layman's terms anyway.

As well as the fallen tree we had down here today I also had to suffer a signalling failure somewhere in the Midlands I think.

All three mainlines have been totally up the wall, I'd use more profane language but this is a family friendly environment!!

ECML due to High Winds and a Fatality at Alexandra Palace

MML due to a signalling failure at Leicester

WCML due to High Winds, and what appears to be a loco failure of a class 90 on a frieght!

Total chaos!!
