Is any TOC more hated by its customers than Southeastern?

It's a standard method of service recovery to run some trains "fast" so they can get back to an on-time service quicker.

It is not standard to do so without telling anyone.

Plus I do agree with the article, an eight minute delay does not seem to be sufficient justification for skipping 3 or 4 stations.

Yesterday I was on the 0712 (0630 from Broadstairs) Sittingbourne - St Pancras formed of 2 x Class 395.
I was heading to Strood to go down to Maidstone, I knew I had to change at Gillingham as the 395 in question doesn't stop at Strood.
As there were delays due to a points failure at Rochester meaning they had to manually set, the train was about 15 minutes late and stopped additionally at Strood and Gravesend so people going to Charing X could continue without too much delay.
And to top it off, the 0755 Strood - Tonbridge was held as the driver and additional guard were on my train! (The 0755 needed 2 guards as it was formed of 2 x Class 466s)
So passing stations to make up any lost time is not always the case!

You, like the author of the article, didn't read SE response properly. It wasn't just a case of an 8 minute delay. It was a case of if the train had stopped at all its scheduled stations it would have missed its slot at complicated junctions and been delayed even further, with the knock on effect of delaying subsequent services.

Made a nice change for an 'extra' train to stop at Gravesend especially a 12-car 395 at that! Guessing previous ones had already been cancelled/delayed - still ended up 30 mins late to St Pancras though.
