London Midland Class 150s Farewell

[Techniquest]

Latest info received regarding LM 150's from DEC is as follows.

1 - Marston Vale.
1 - New st - Worcs - Hfd. (Starting from Worcs 06.28 to New st ending with
17.59 New st to Gt Malv. Diagram includes 2 trips Gt Malv & 2 Herefords).
1 - Spare TYS.

Also:

2 x 170/6 (3 cars). 07.35 Worcs SH - Dorridge - Snow Hill then ECS TYS.
1 x 170/6 + 153 13.17 Worcs SH - Dorridge then rest of diagram.

To release the 2 170/6 two former 3 car 170 diagrams will be 170/5 + 153
off Worcs.

Cheers for those, shall be keeping my eye out for those 150 diagrams. The ones with 153s on I think I will keep an eye on too as I still need a few LM 153s.

To be leaving Eastleigh works it would already have to be there. So you must mean leaving for Eastleigh works...

170s on a Dorridge local service! That will excellent as the ride and interior on the lm 170s are brilliant! However my only moan is will they be quick enough to keep to timings, although I assume the times will be edited in December for the 172s to bed into.

Thanks for the gen, I'll get in touch tonight. Been getting worried that the day's nearly here and all the Travelodge rooms will be far too expensive. Weather's a bit too cold for an overnight move around the Midlands, how I'll survive an overnighter in Manchester next month I don't know...

An interesting idea, shall have a look at it shortly.

Since it's not been mentioned yet, details have begun to be announced on the SVR website. See their News pages for details, but it's £20 plus £1 booking fee, picks up at Snow Hill (0750), Smethwick Galton Bridge, Rowley Regis, Stourbridge Junction, Kidderminster, Droitwich Spa (0848) and Worcester Shrub Hill (0900) - can't remember the times at the other pick up points.

Should be 150001 and an unidentified 2-car 150. Also should still be taking in various loops and depots as well as Bridgnorth. No word on whether it's getting any 08 haulage yet, but we'll soon know.

I'm expecting to book a Travelodge near Snow Hill later tonight. heart-of-wessex, I hope you read your PM shortly! Now the details are up I suspect the rooms will be booked pretty quickly!

Details on the LM page look very good, I'm well pleased with the planned routing and times, most sociable start and not a bad finish at Shrub Hill either.

Currently it is about 1:1 on average so by the 5th I expect 3:4.

Thanks for that, shouldn't be too difficult to find 150s then. Are the 172s weighted more towards specific routes or can they be found anywhere that 150s work(ed)?

The 172s can be found anywhere on the Snow Hill Lines, though they appear to have greatest dominance on the Worcester side. Yesterday at Moor St. for 5 mins I saw 5 150s.
