Is this place still open?
I was aware it opened in 2007 but has anything used it or is still using it? or has it just been closed and left?

Google searches provided one site saying the property was no longer avaliable but the official site for it still exists.

It seems a common feature of large scale freight/warehousing/distribution developments, a cynic might suppose they only build a siding to get the relevant grants and help smooth the planning process, but they never really intend to use rail at all.

I'm fairly sure this has been said about Telford...

The point is the facility is there if in the future someone wishes to use it. The only way to encourage more freight to switch from road to rail is to continue to build more of these facilities. This policy served SNCF Fret very well over the years; in recent times its been their inefficiency that has cost them business, not the lack of freight handling capacity.
