day out in West Midlands suggestions

Hi all me and my partner are in Birmingham over the weekend and I fancy a train ride, that's reasonably priced after 10am Saturday, anyone got any suggestions? Need to be back say around 6pm ish thanks

If you havent been to Moor Street in a while I'd suggest you pay it a visit. It's a lovely station these days, and if you are interested in the Severn Valley then you can jump on a shiny new 172 direct to Kidderminster.

Buy a nnetwork - covers Trains to wolverhampton Walsall Coventry stourbridge along with birmingham (as well as buses in those areas too!)

Trip to Stratford on Avon is a nice ride, thought it was a bit of a hidden gem when I went on it a couple of years ago what with semaphore signalling (now replaced) and sections jointed track. Nice countryside too. Or for a longer trip you could go to Worcester, or maybe buy a £10 London Midland Great Escape ticket (you need to prtint off a voucher from the LM website though) and go to London or Liverpool.
