Id that's by the tour operator with their city break tour, some people were asking if walk up fares would be available but the tour has a set price. I looked on the website and it was around £150 so I changed my mind....

It's for a private Charter tomorrow because it is booked to do the 1K39 afterwards

Set should be 90016 with 82126 on the rear end

Should be an interesting trip on 1K39 then as on wnxx there are posts that make reference to the fact that 90016 cannot reach 110mph. If that is the case will VT be happy with a loco that will lose even more time than normal on 1K39.

As an example 1K39 will usually be around 10mins late at Coventry with a loco that can reach 110mph, though will leave BHM on time due to the waiting time it has there.

The headcode of the 18:43 Friday only (I think...) Euston to Crewe, the scheduled service operated by the Pretendolino.

It's not a tour operator as such, it's a holiday company. WCRC are the TOC. 90016 is a FL machine, has been since 2004 and 90050's demise!

Does it sit in Euston for the whole time between 1T90 and 1K39 or get put in the holding sidings just outside the throat?

National rail tickets NOT valid on it (some were given duff gen about this the other day). A couple of people I was speaking to on K39 on Friday night had contacted Omega Travel and booked tickets to have a ride to/from Glasgow. I think it cost about £60 but don't quote me on that.

For the next few weeks:

...
Friday
5T90 - 08:34 Polmadie to Glasgow
1T90 - 09:12 Glasgow to Euston
1K39 - 18:43 Euston to Crewe
5K39 - 21:46 Crewe to Wembley
...

and
...
HanslpJ 15:11
MKnsCen 15:15
Bltchly 15:17
LedbrnJ 15:23
Tring 15:27
...

so where was it today, Friday pm, 21 October 2011?

I was at Old Linslade, Stoke Road bridge (i.e. between Bltchly 15:17 and LedbrnJ 15:23) from around 14:50 through to 17:17 with camcorder & tripod, and I didn't see it.

I did capture a bird strike at about 15:37 to a Pendolino travelling south - I'll try and post this on Youtube later.

Out of interest, if the Pretendolino has been on the 18:43 Euston to Crewe, what is on the 18:46 FO to Preston?

The 18:46 FO only seems to have standard class tickets for sale. If it isn't the Pretendolino, is it a regular service with 1st class declassified?

It is indeed a Pendolino with declassified First Class.

Thanks for confirming - much appreciated. That's made my choice of train home easier for Friday evening. I'll take the additional journey time with a cheaper ticket and a first class seat (subject to getting one on the train) in that case then.
