Is it possible to get club55 fares via red spotted hanky? I would like to use Tesco Vouchers. I cannot persuade the RSH system to give me the route I need as it appears to allow only one via. I want to go from Romsey to Newport South Wales then Manchester Piccadilly and thence to Glasgow Central I can do this on the club55 website but not on RSH.

To get two vias on the RSH site (and any other WebTIS-based site):
  1. Fill in details of your journey together with the first via point as normal
  2. Instead of clicking Search at the bottom, instead click Timetables only
  3. Then, in the input text box headed Trains which call at, input your second via point and click Update
  4. Click Buy a ticket

You still might have a bit of work picking suitable via points to force it onto the TOCs you want to use though.

What are the dates and times of your planned journey?

Thanks, Indigo2, for this suggestion, which I had not encountered before.

I can now obtain this itinerary from East Coast for a planned return Leeds - Croydon journey via Selby and City Thameslink.
Outward - Tue 27 Sep 2011
1038 Leeds - Selby 1057 TP
1103 Selby - Kings X 1308 HT
1340 St Pancras - East Croydon 1409 FC

Return - Wed 28 Sep 2011
1247 East Croydon - St Pancras 1317 FC
1348 Kings X - Selby 1539 HT
1610 Selby - Leeds 1637 TP
Unfortunately, Club 55 return tickets are still not offered. Any ideas?

I think they don't sell them on Redspottedhanky despite them popping up on other Webtis based sites like eastcoast.

When I 'phoned them about the same problem they said that there was an issue with Club 55 bookings that they were dealing with and to try again later. That was over a week ago.

Up to a point. On East Coast, I can get one-TOC journeys like Leeds - Newcastle or Leeds - Manchester - Edinburgh to show Club 55 fares, but multi-TOC journeys like Leeds - Selby - Grantham or Leeds - Selby - Kings X - Croydon do not offer Club 55 despite being Permitted Routes.

Webtis on South Eastern is slightly better, for Leeds to Grantham, there is as a TP & HT ONLY option under "show slower routes" which gives you the club 55 fares but less success with Leeds to Croydon there is a "TP HT & FCC ONLY" option but it can't find any services.

This has veered away from the main question of can you get them on RedSpottedHanky to use Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and I have never been able to get them to show.

May I just thank Indigo2 for this extremely useful suggestion. :) I have never noticed this option before - it is so well hidden! It now allows me to get more appropriate journey itineraries for some of the journeys I frequently make. My opinion of WebTIS is improving all the time!

This suggestion is so useful, I think it should be made a sticky!

I read it somewhere on here a few months ago! Was surprised nobody made more of a fuss about it at the time :) It is rather counter-intuitive as the user interface makes it look like by adding the second via point you are only filtering the results you already have - but it actually seems to do a whole new search.
