To those who might be interested:
Want to find out how a London Underground station works? Why not join us on a tour of West Ashfield station. Not familiar with the name? Can’t find it on the tube map? It’s not surprising; this station is on the 3rd floor of an office block. It’s a complete replica station for training staff on every aspect of running a London tube station and underground railway. It even has a model underground railway layout, complete with authentic signaling.

I have been here on a training course and also on a team day and can thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn about the operational aspects of LU. In particular it made me understand what a great method of working LU implements and how it's far better than anything done on Network Rail.

PS: I have moved this to the correct forum as it's nothing to do with NR.

Had a look at the model railway and mock up station when I was there doing training. Good aid to have, especially for seeing how the signalling operates.

Rumour has it that the whole lot is due to go in a redevelopment in the not too distant future.

I thought it was more of a confirmed fact! Good riddance too, horrible building.

It certainly is in the area set to be bulldozed, along with both Earls Court exhibition halls, Lillie Bridge depot and some council housing.

It is hardly used now, canteen is now just a coffee shop, no floor full of trainers sat at computers and recruitment staff. There's some kit in there for railway stuff and then this West Ashfield and a broken model railway!
