Delay Repay after break of journey

On Friday morning I went from Broad Green to Manchester Piccadilly, spent several hours in Manchester, then went from Manchester Victoria to Todmorden in the late afternoon. Did both trips using the same outbound ticket of a BGE-TOD Off Peak Return. I arrived in Todmorden 20 minutes late. Both legs were on Northern.

Can I claim Delay Repay, and if so what's the easiest way to do it? I'm tempted to just to submit the MCV-TOD leg, but the system will show the ticket was scanned hours earlier.

Made the claim and it was rejected. They said I uploaded an expense receipt rather than a ticket.

Made the appeal and they've rejected that. Now they claim there's an identical claim already in the system.

So I've sent a snotty complaint letter and I'll see what happens.

It's always going to be difficult to claim for this sort of journey, and for a delay of 15-29 mins I doubt it's worth it.

If it was the entire journey, it would be £3.71.

However, Manchester to Broad Green is not much more than a third of the cost of the overall fare held, so the value being disputed is something in the region of £1.25.

The value being argued over is a matter of pence, so it will cost both parties more in the value of their time, than the actual amount in question.

What a complete waste of everyone's time, including your own.
For that amount of delay and money, just get over it.

It'd be the best part of £4, wouldn't it? Not a fortune, but I've certainly claimed for far less before now.

I suppose so, although asking for the ticket to be resubmitted and then rejecting it as a duplicate is not great.

Is there a lower limit on how much can be claimed for Delay Repay?
No, you can be as petty as you want if you can be bothered to sink time into filling out the form. Although at such small amounts I'd rather do it on the bus home and hit the "donate it to charity" option.

So you disagree with the poster I replied to?
