Will it be pan up/down in the Gledholt tunnels for a couple of years at the end of this decade?

Yes and then realistically only the 802s as the new TPE stock is a long way off. Looking at the timeline I don't think Northern will have new EMU stock to use by time Leeds-Huddersfield is live.

Better that a substantial and useful (Leeds-Huddersfield) route is available to bed in new stock, rather than mouldering in a siding after delivery.

Personally I would assume in Huddersfield station itself. So visible pantograph movement and dwell time available to resolve any transient issues.
If they wire through the tunnels to Springwood Jn (with an overlap towards Marsden) EMUs terminating from the east would be able to run as ECS and reverse west of the tunnels back into the station.
Otherwise the station is the obvious place to switch power with 802s.

There's two slow through platforms, and a six car bay platform, going in at Huddersfield for exactly that reason. Reversing on the main line at Springwood Jn would eat capacity needlessly.

The general plan is for the Mancs - Hudds stopper to terminate in the new platform 3, and the Leeds - Hudds and Bradford - Hudds stoppers to terminate in the new platforms 5/6.

One of Tim's Youtubes looked to show mast bases for a short distance west of the tunnels. Perhaps to permit west end shunting between platforms at times of disruption

That is a overlap. These days, we never wire to the end of the platforms and stop, we run onwards the full braking distance, and then a bit further to a nice uncomplicated bit of plain track, and then on the end of that we add a neutral section (or at the bare minimum, a neutral earthed length of wires).

This means that at the end of the live section, there's a fully independent neutral length of wires, that's fully installed and yet never expected to be energised. That means when we come back later on, and wire up the next bit, we can wire all the way up to the current limit of electrification without needing to take a possession and de-energise the existing wires for an extended period to tie it in. We just wire all the way up to the neutral section at the other end, and voila, no disruptive possessions, no mucking around taking down wires to install new runs, and no accidents.

If the railway can manage to get the "changeovers on the move" down to a fine art, there's maybe a case to permit 802s (and other bi-mode units such as the new Alstom sets) do depart westbound on electric rather than filling the trainshed up with diesel fumes... but that could be considered too big a performance risk in the event of things not going to plan.

Plenty of electrified routes in Manchester and Leeds to bed new stock in.

My view is we are spending thick end of £8bn between York and Huddersfield and we should be trying to get the return on that investment from the first possible opportunity.
