Anyone know the current progress on the conversion on 153381 VIU 5?

153384 led me on a right merry dance, took me ages to track it down - helped by some wonderful contributors on this forum.
And out of the blue it was sitting on the far side of Manchester Piccadilly at 7am yesterday morning.

Do the 153s each have specific areas in which they operate or do all of them just go all over?
