Sounds fro media reports that check-in works really well and you can access whichever room you need, yeah.Hilton have had a digital key since 2020. The check in part does work pretty well but the key itself is similarly unreliable.
It's St Albans, London City (near Aldgate station) and possibly Thame (near Travelodge Head Office.) I've used it a few times at both St Albans and London City and never had an issue. The app also functions as your room key by NFC or Bluetooth. The new app iw called Travelodge StaySmart. I'm not sure how many hotels have it but it is a no from me, I'll stick to standard check in from now on!

There is an offer on now with Premier Inn
Free breakfasts for stays between 18th Sept and 23rd November
Some hotels are as cheap as £35, so with breakfasts normally £10.99 each or sometimes £11.99, two people could have a mini break and get a decent breakfast too

A cautionary note here. I’ve just had an email from Premier/Beefeater/Brewers Fayre notifying me of restaurant closures in the middle of September, which I was aware of.There is an offer on now with Premier Inn

There is precedent for that; Travelodge Porthmadog make guests walk 5 minutes to a café called Breaktimes on a nearby industrial estate if you want breakfast... and no, they don't give you a voucher for it. You have to pay for it separately.A cautionary note here. The email goes on to state that after that date breakfasts will still be available either in house or in a “nearby restaurant”.
That last bit concerns me, a nearby restaurant is unlikely to be a help yourself buffet, and the quality can vary greatly.
Fair comment there, and the Travelodge “breakfast box” is awful anyway. But in this case I fear that in certain circumstances Premier are going to outsource their breakfasts, reducing the value to me. I usually load up from the buffet to keep me going all day, greedy I know, but unlike others that I’ve witnessed I don’t waste anything. There is precedent for that; Travelodge Porthmadog make guests walk 5 minutes to a café called Breaktimes on a nearby industrial estate if you want breakfast... and no, they don't give you a voucher for it. Albeit in this case, the Travelodge never had on site catering in the first place
If they were to do that at the Premier Inn round the corner from me, it would fail on the 'nearby' tag! It's an interesting one because there are no nearby restaurants, apart from MacDonalds and Starbucks. My big worry is that they enter into a deal with Wetherspoons, which I don’t use under any circumstances.
I get that, and of course everyone’s idea of nearby is different. I’m approaching 70, overweight and have a dodgy knee, but I can still get around reasonably well. However a “short walk” to a nearby place for breakfast is a different proposition on a nice sunny morning in June to the same short walk on a cold rainy morning in the depths of winter. If they were to do that at the Premier Inn round the corner from me, it would fail on the 'nearby' tag! Further to this, I have learned today that 53 of the pubs being closed have been purchased by Queensway Inns and will continue in business. One local to me is keeping the same manager and staff, but it isn't yet clear what will change. I suspect they might be providing breakfast for guests of the adjacent PI.A cautionary note here. That’s interesting. Thanks. I was going to contact the Premier in Scarborough prior to my visit to enquire what the arrangements are. Your information gives me hope that I won’t be getting a breakfast downgrade.Further to this, I have learned today that 53 of the pubs being closed have been purchased by Queensway Inns and will continue in business. Stayed at Moxy a few times elsewhere (Chester, Bucharest) and always been impressed. Workspace areas if you want to do some work, great bars and decent food. Usually reasonably priced too. The Chester one is literally a 5-10 min walk from the Station across the canal.Currently staying in the Moxy in Plymouth
Was the same price as a Premier Inn
About 20 minutes walk from the station, clean rooms, very modern decor, nice breakfast
Bar area which serves reasonably priced food
Where is the Captain Howey Hotel?Captain Howey hotel
Left quite a lot to be desired. Tiny room, no food between Monday and Wednesday, bar closed at 9 and I apparently have to contact the manager to arrange payment. Next time I visit the RHDR I'm staying in Hythe.

Note that its "Travelodge, Liverpool Central", and not "Travelodge, Liverpool Central Exchange Street", "Travelodge, Liverpool Central The Strand" or "Travelodge, Liverpool Central Queens Dock and Arena". Google Maps shows the others as "Travelodge, Liverpool Central..."Travelodge, Liverpool Central
Located in the city centre area of Liverpool, around 5 minutes from both Moorfields & Lime Street (and close to one of the city centre bus stations). I had a twin room overlooking the road near the Queensway tunnel mouth so it was a bit noisy with the window open. With the window closed it was peaceful.
Usual Travelodge style room, shower was a bit underpowered.

Similar issue with Manchester with various Travelodges within the city centre called similar. I've updated the title to be "Old Haymarket".Note that its "Travelodge, Liverpool Central", and not "Travelodge, Liverpool Central Exchange Street", "Travelodge, Liverpool Central The Strand" or "Travelodge, Liverpool Central Queens Dock and Arena". Is the hot breakfast at premier inn George square still taken to order or is it a help yourself buffet ?Premier Inn Glasgow City Centre (George Square)
My wife and I have just returned yesterday, from a short stay here and everything was fine
When in Glasgow, we have usually stayed at the Buchanan Galleries P.I. which I have reviewed here previously, but at the time of booking, the George Square P.I. was about £45 cheaper for a 2-night stay. Funnily enough, I just checked now, for 2 weeks from today and there is only a £2 difference.
This hotel is not actually on George Square, although it is quite nearby, on the corner of George Street and Montrose Street.
It's handy enough and is an easy 5-minute walk from Glasgow Queen's Street Station.
We would certainly stay here again, although if the prices are close, I would probably prefer the Buchanan Galleries P.I. .. for the views from top floor rooms.
Buffet-style breakfast. Is the hot breakfast at premier inn George square still taken to order or is it a help yourself buffet ?
Thank you for your reply and good to know it’s buffet style as last couple of times I’ve stayed there back in 2023 then 2024 they were cooked to orderBuffet-style breakfast.
We've never been to a Premier Inn where this hasn't been the case
It can depend on how many people are booked in for breakfast. If there are only a few, setting out the hot buffet is likely to result in wastage.Buffet-style breakfast.
