0N42 leads back to Crewe Gresty Bridge. But perhaps we should await a Mk1 eyeball conformation that it does not divert to Crewe South Yard.


I think 93001 is a special case as it has couplers fitted for dragging units so perhaps will always be kept handy (or out of the way) at Crewe Gresty. I *think* I recall that one other 93 has the couplers - anyone know ?. But it would seem that any unit moves 93s get used on (presumably without barriers) will be the same 93(s).

93002 + 93007 did indeed work to Derby Litchurch Lane Works this afternoon. I understand they are to take a Class 180 to Eastleigh on Wednesday

Thanks. I worked out I just missed 0Z57. Think I would have been staring at Basford Hall Yard from my Euston to Crewe service while it headed South behind me !.

EDIT
Looks like the class 180 drag to Eastleigh could be 5Q86 6Q86. Via the ECML and London ?.

Thanks - this one, manually activated.
6Q86 (which I called 5Q86 yesterday - must be my eyesight !)


I note that there is plenty of spare time time in its path (pathing etc). Scope (however minor) for it to be up to 1 1/2 hours early through London.

EDIT :-
And its left on time.
So, just to highlight, it is the long way round via Peterborough and North London then past Reading !.

EDIT, to add :-
At Gresty on Tuesday 22/09/2026 I saw 93004 & 93005. Nothing changed regarding 93s from 14:15 to 20:05. Apparently 93006 was the only other 93 there but was inside the shed.
I know I missed 93002 & 93007 which left at about 12:00 for todays working (6Q86 above in this post).

They came back from Eastleigh on 5M57 and over-nighted at Chaddesden.

Tonight the pair SEEM to be returning from Eastleigh on 5H72 to Wembley arriving there 22:24.
(just in case anyone needs another chance/time)

After running 5H72 they should head to Ely Papworth on 5L46 Tommorow.

Potentially collecting more 180s? 110 and 111 are stored at Ely currently.

Class 93 testing resumes this time on the Tesco Intermodal. 4S43 now been 4Q43 and return 4M48 as 4Q48. Expected to the 93 + Load 18 Twins. Performance testing on Shap and Beattock.
Class 93 will arrive at Daventry from Crewe on 29th to start 4Q43/4Q48 workings until the 2nd October.

Yes , presumably so , I tried to indicate that but looking at it again it looks like it came across as me saying both will be dragged at the same time.
