Moderator note: Split from
Keeping LNER rather than changing to East Coast is also a bit odd but it's a recognisable brand and historical name so I can see why it might be kept at least during the transition.

I hope eventually these TOC names are all dropped and we just get unified branding based on service type. GBR | Intercity would work fine.
Maybe Eleanor will dye her hair!

I heard GBR is getting a theme tune and it'll be sung by its own group, the Gee Bees.

There's the EMR purple animal which iI find horrifying - the flat but expanded figure sadly reminds me of when, as a child, our cat got run over.

GA's hares, Avanti's tortoise, SWR's pigeon and seagull - a few animals need rehomed.

As for GWR, Five Head off to Retirement?

The pigeon and seagull are a bit like DB's Max Maulwurf (the mole) but with a regional twist, specifically relating to engineering works. I don't see why they shouldn't still be used in that context.

The tortoise is just a bit silly.

It will be sad to say goodbye to what has to be one of the best railway promotional packages in history. In my view they got that one very, very right despite all the (quite funny) parodies of it I saw.
