The Plymouth - Aberdeen service is skip-calling left right and centre. Ran fast from Bristol Parkway to New Street and is now doing the same from Sheffield to York. My tickets are a split-ticket purchased from here. If my train gets me into Sheffield with no additional delay, would I be able to catch the 14:52 ‘Flyer’ by Northern?

I’m on an Off Peak, Day Return routed ‘not via Doncaster’.

Well, we don't all know what 1S45 is, but in general terms, speak to the guard.

Will I be able to get the Yorkshire Flyer at 14:48 IF my train gets me to Sheffield without any further delay?
Why would you not be able to get the 14:48?

Your post isn't very clear.

Well, if we gain anymore delays... I'll miss it unless they're holding either the 1448 or 1452 for passengers whose stops at Wakefield and Leeds have been skipped on this XC service.

You could perhaps tell us what train 1S45 is and what tickets you actually hold, that way we can give you answers that you can rely on.

I'm not entirely sure what the point of your question is? What specifically do you need to know? If you don't arrive in time, then clearly you won't be able to catch it and there is nothing anyone can do to prevent that. If you fail to make your connection, you can catch the next available service and claim delay repay.

I'm not sure how to make it clearer.

I'm asking IF my XC train manages to get me in to Sheffield before the Northern one departs, could I travel on the Northern service?

Agreed - if you’re going to use reporting numbers like 1S45 you should clarify by saying something like “09:27 Plymouth to Aberdeen” as well rather than assuming we all magically know this somehow. You didn’t and your post is not clear because of it.

Or do you mean the 08:30 Euston-Glasgow which is also 1S45?

Without knowing the exact ticket you hold, nobody can possibly expected to know the answer to that question.

With respect, rather than post 'I don't know, your post isn't clear', maybe ask what the ticket is etc first? It's not like I'm stressed enough trying to reorganise my travel for petty posting.

My ticket is for Sheffield to Leeds routed not via Doncaster.

If you want people to help you, you need to give enough information for them to do so accurately.

Is it an advance, anytime or off peak?

Think in context 1S45 is the 0927 XC from Plymouth to Aberdeen. Will have called at each of Tiverton Parkway, Bristol Parkway and Worcestershire Parkway en route. Looks like it was running 30 minutes down at Sheffield just now.

Anyone able to determine which train the 1448 "Yorkshire Flyer" might have been? Is that the Northern service from Sheffield to Leeds via Barnsley / Wakefield Kirkgate. Likely that connection wasn't met. Perhaps @Bayum can clarify where they're wanting to get to? And what ticket(s) are held? Thanks in anticipation.

Presumably 1L64 13:23 Lincoln Central to Leeds, https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:G89419/2026-09-18/detailed, but the original poster is not very good at clarifying.

S Yorks, usually
Yorkshire Flyer is Northern's name for the recently-introduced Sheffield/Wakefield Westgate/Leeds fast services, of which the 1452 is one.

It'll be interesting to hear what you get offered in delay repay as even though you made the 14:52 your connection was only 3 minutes rather than the minimum of 7 minutes for Sheffield.

I know. I thought pushing it back to get the higher delay repay but I had an infusion to get to in Chapel Allerton!

Cross Country's computer might think the earliest you could have got to Leeds would be 16:15 though if it applies the minimum connection time at Sheffield which would put you into the 60-119 minutes bracket rather than the 30-59 minutes one.

Oh is that what happens? Even if they see that I scanned in Leeds?

Actually it's Cross Country so your mileage may vary and they actually ask you to choose your delay bracket yourself so to be safe I'd say just choose 30-59 minutes as that was your actual delay.
