Question for those who have started training or will do in November/Febuary. How long after completing the medical did you receive your official contract?

4-5 weeks for me.

Email. All contract stuff done with email and on your online portal.

Later on you get pension stuff and staff travel docs in the post.

Bit of a weird question but did they inform you to expect a call from them or was it out of the blue?
I'm in the HEX pool aswell so I don't want to miss an opportunity if it were to arise.

Good morning all,

I've been reading this thread for some time and it's helped through my journey. I've just been offered my start date next year beginning of Feb. I'll be going to Oxford depot. I haven't seen anyone else put Oxford yet so hopefully they are looking at placing a few more from that pool as well.

If I can help at any point, please don't hesitate to ask. If people are wondering my time line has been application end of Jan, then the video IV not long after. Once that was passed I had the assessment day begining of April followed by the MMI mid June. Then the final Dmi Was mid July. Approx a week later I was placed into a pool and started the wait. I've just been placed with the start date of beginning of Feb, so about a year to the day from the application end date.

Looking forward to the new change, hopefully manage to cross paths with some of you on here in the future

Thanks buddy. I just looked back at my emails and it looks like I received an email the day after I submitted it saying I was successful. However it still took two more weeks for the psychometric tests to be checked and then offered a date to book on for the assessment day. Hope that helps.

Yes it's the national TOC tests, I believe GWR accept the standard pass not the enhanced standard pass. So it's a little easier I guess or you have a little more wiggle room on the answers.

It's the group bordon, dials test, hazard perception and memory tests etc there are many threads in this forum that can help you with prep for this if successful to that point. It was a full on couple of hours that's for sure, but if you prep it's passable

My bad. I though it was the assessment day that EMR has where you do a group exercise as well as an individual exercise.

Just wondering, did they tell you when your medical will be?
I was told in the DMI that it needed to be within a few weeks of the start date

Thanks buddy, fingers crossed you hear soon too! I have been told to expect the medical in the next 2-4 weeks. Once that's done they will send me the contract etc. At the minute I only have a conditional offer.

Nothing else at the minute, although I'm sure there will be vetting/references at some point. But it was sold to me that after the medical, as long as you pass it ok a contract should follow.
