Thanks @D6130 :) It's a curse of reducing the image-size on these renders. On full 14Mb image, it is legibly number E656 530. Those quirky Bo-Bo-Bo machines really appealed to me in the 1980s.
I'm afraid they've all gone now, except for a few preserved examples which sometimes work main line specials. They were the successors to the older and less powerful E646 class - seen on the right - and the class were nicknamed 'Caimano' (Alligator) by Italian drivers due to their flexible appearance when rounding sharp curves.

Scenic break. I am certain many here know the iconic Conwy Castle's wall-arch which the North Wales railway line passes through. So this is an Italian equivalent; it's a freelance scene inspired by several locations. Diesel locos classes D445 and D345 at the helm.

A load of Baroques. A fusion of the Balkan cities and towns. The Konstal trams are - just - hanging on in Krackow, Poland.

19th Century signalmen were nicknamed bobbies & police constables were nicknamed bobbies. See what I did there?
OK, I'll give you that....although not the case in Italy. In absolute block or single line block days, the Dirigente Movimenti (usually the station master at small country stations) had to wear a red-topped cap when stepping out onto the platform or track. Drivers could only proceed from - or pass through - the station on his or her authority. The same rule applied/applies in many other European countries although the French - being French - had to be different....and issued their station masters with white-topped caps!

Railway modellers, go forth.

I think I've solved your BR(ScR) garden extension @Cowley ;)

Fascinating insight about the Italian rules.

The French white-cap attire does make me wonder what happens if the platform is suddenly filled with uniformed French Navy officers... ;)

Meanwhile, the virtual pigeon flew out of the virtual garden railway bridge - in time for a virtual running session before sunset.

I wish my garden was that flat!

That's a very expensive-looking car to be dumped in a canal. Presumably some local scallies hot-wired it and pinched it for a high-speed joyride around the M60. :s
It is easier to joyride round the M60 in someone elses car than get yourself some of those plates the cameras do not recognise.

The past scene of the same location is far less blighted by joyriders and brownfield emptiness. The car has been parked better though.

With the ongoing 222/810 situation at EMR and ASLEF wanting the Class 43 power cars gone, ScotRail needs a solution to come to the rescue!

That livery, that EE noise. What's not to love (and it's 38 years since I last had a Tractor thrashing me to and from Kyle!)

That 37 is one of the most beautiful things I think I've ever seen, I might have to torture myself in the TSW livery designer to recreate it!

For the AI bus images thread, I have made a "what if" London Passenger Transport Board poster for the 1933 introduction of the STL bus. Link is below.
I felt it only fair to devise a 1930s poster in the style of LNER Publicity Department; and an early 1940s poster in the style of the War Ministry.

What if the Class 28s had lasted a few more years? A rail blue 28003 on the Cumbrian coast.

Really nice image.

I see that they have top-and-tailed the set being held in the loop in the background.

The siding on the left is where they park the class 101 DMU in between Sellafield to Ashington via Burnley Manchester Road turns.

I am now off to Whitby. If only there was a suitable train to get me there.

CRAPTOSS (my cricket bowling style)

CRESS ATOP? (an edible herb not found along Cumbria's coast, nor served in Whitby guesthouses)
The dictionary says that the latter is a solution to the widespread failure of green roof structures. Reference is made to a TfW pilot. However, it is considered inadmissable for railway downcount.

The former might be what some think should happen to the class 150/2, but that seems harsh. Especially now TfW have converted them to battery operation (green fronts) and level boarding.

Err....that image is of a 150/1,not a 150/2.
A minor point of pedantry, but still.... ;)
