Bath still have plenty of older E400s not fitted with next stop audio. Deadline is less than a month away, thought Streetdeck EVs were due to replace them,
Presumably the 35 new Yutong that were driven off the ship at Portbury few days ago, allow some sort of cascade around the fleet

Some of the 12 reg ones.
These are some of the former Olympic shuttle buses, now over 14 years old.

There were hundreds of buses built for First in 2011 and 2012 ahead of the Olympics, so probably still a distortion in fleet age profile from this surge. What is the plan for these ?

Some longer EV single deckers (43001 er seq) have put in an appearance this week.
I spent a bit of time in Bath yesterday (07-Sep-2026) and saw some of the E100EVs and E200EVs out and about. Among the ones I saw was 43001 which was in the bus station with its displays showing for the next D2x departure to Frome: I believe it made an appearance on a D1 earlier this week on which route I heard on a FB group it gave a good run.

I am hoping to get to Bath in the next few weeks or so for a longer trip and will try out these new ADLs.

I think the new E100s are excellent. Air conditioning is good and they don't feel as cramped as the Optares. The only issue is that I think they should have ordered more to completely replace the Optares.

They're also very versatile so as well as focusing on the 2, 6, 6a, 7 and 8 they can run on other routes that are quieter in the evening.

I'm yet to grab an E200ev but I'm sure they'll be excellent too. They're also really useful as they can run on the 1, 2 and 13 unlike the 67xxx e200mmcs.

The plan is to replace the Optares AFAIK - just waiting for the e200ev to arrive.

In other news, saw a new Chinese decker at Cumberland Basin today...but not for First. It was a Metroline BYD

I see the first gas bus has now been repainted into West green - 39460 is the lucky recipient.

I was very surprised to see that there's 2 enviro200 evs on the 2 today. What's their length compared to the 67xxx buses.

Not sure, they look similar in length I think. Turning circle is probably a lot better. The 67xxx are interesting to say the least on that front. I have seen one venture on the 1 once which I thought was very brave!

Well turns out 67093 has ventured out onto the 1!

I just have to say that 39460 looks mostly smart - personally I’d have vinyled over the stairs though

A handful of Bath E400s were operating out of Keynsham today, seemingly swapped with MMCs back to Bath.

A couple more looked to have moved yesterday with 33667/91 and 39137/8/9/40 so far…

I have no clue why they are swapping, I'm guessing 39133-5 will be next to go over or have probably gone over today. 33791 and 33960 haven't been out so maybe they might be going over to Bath.

Yutongs starting to enter service in Bath.

There is an E12 on the 48x as we speak, and there is now E400s headed to Lawrence Hill.

37426 was involved with an accident with a car at Southmead Hospital this afternoon. (It would appear the car was exiting the car park on Monks Park Way without looking). The bus suffered extensive damage to the front nearside.

Interesting contrasts on X39 today. Bath providing brand new Yutong 30223/28/29/34 and Marlborough Street running B9s 37320/35/772.

I saw one of the new E200EVs yesterday on the X39 just outside of Bath which I wasn't expecting!
They do seem to appear on random routes, today 43007 is on D1 to Warminster

The D1 today has 4 buses, all in different liveries, which rather highlights the not tight allocations (although to be 100% fair, the buses are in a transition period)

They’re commonly on D1 and D2. More oddly, a pair were working the 2 to Foxhill on Thursday.
