Evnin' all,

This is a new one. We've spoken many times before about the famous people we like, have met and fancy. But, what about who would we like to meet? I'm sure everyone here has a thousand and one ideas.

I'm going to kick us off with three...

Robert Lindsay (He comes from my town so it would be nice to meet him)
Lee Evans (Funniest man alive)
Will Smith (I've always been a fan of his and admired his work)

I'll probably come up with some more later on.

Over to you...

H.

The one person I always wanted to meet unfortunately passed away in 2004, and that was the late John Peel.
Now, it would have to be Dieter Meier, one half of Swiss electro duo Yello, eccentric industrialist multi-millionaire, professional poker player and ex-member of the Swiss national golf team.
And, just to show there is a railway link, in 1972 as part of the exhibition of modern and contemporary art Documenta 5, he installed a commemorative plaque at the railway station in Kassel (Germany) which read: "On 23 March 1994, from 3 to 4 pm, Dieter Meier will stand on this plaque". He honoured the promise 22 years later.
I still wish I'd gone...

Not 100% convinced The Eagles would be the most pleasant of people, so as much as they are an amazing band, I dont think they would be in my list.

However, Eric Clapton, yes, and Mark Knopfler (what makes you say him by the way), well thats a definite. A very intelligent man, and probably got a fair few stories to tell. Just dont go acting like a typical music fan though. I have a feeling he wouldnt like it much.

On top of these: Arsene Wenger, David Jason, and one who has unfortunately left us now- John Thaw

I think Joe Walsh would be good, he's quite a character, drunk or not. As for Frey and Henley, if you get them on their own thy'd be OK, they have written some awesome songs between them.

Joe Walsh Id probably go mad if i was with him! As for the others. Possibly, but i think i will give it a miss. The awesome songs though. Well cant argue with that.

Because he's a legend!

I didnt think you liked his music?
Anyway, either way, a legend he most definitely is. Still cant quite work out if he knows it or not! He acts so humble at times, and always runs himself down, but I dont believe he can be that naive!

It's more the way he effortlessly combines music and isn't big-headed or 'Ooooohhh, look at me' about it. Sultans of Swing and Walk of Life are good too. the way he can sing and play guitar so smoothly is great too!

A true musician, and a gentleman.
Ive never known anyone make music sound so smooth and pure. Even classical doesnt sound as pure.
Anyway, must calm down. Less than a month until my next fix!!

The big yin - Billy Connolly and preferably on a train touring Scotland.

I met him once before. He is a proper sound guy. Quite down to earth and friendly.

A few more to add to the list...

Gordon Ramsay
Presidant Obama (Quite a random one yes. But I've always been a supporter)
Peter Kay
Tulisa Contostavlos (:))

Melinda Messenger, Billie Piper and Mark Lamarr. No particular reason.

As far as "English Treasures" (living or deceased) go, it would be Michael Palin and Fred Dibnah.

This is quite easy - Chris Green, Michael Portillo, NCIS / NCIS Los Angeles cast and Queen (All three living members)

However if it's comedy focused then it's Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Kevin Bridges and Jim Davidson for a unforgettable time.

I would love to meet Sir Richard Branson, Lord Alan Sugar, Stephen Fry, Joe Walsh, Brian May, Roger Taylor, Keith Richards & Charlie Watts.

AFAIK, Joe Walsh no longer drinks & has been dry for several years.

I have actually met him once, at a book signing in WH Smiths at Liverpool Street station in 1978.

A very quiet man as I recall.

I did used to have signed copies of all his books but I have not seen them in years - somewhere in the loft one hopes !
