Extremely limited shuttle services are now running north of Harrow (with some PSUL track!). I wouldn’t expect anything south of Harrow for the foreseeable. There is a significant fire in the recycling centre near Neasden South Junction. The Jubilee is also suspended north of Willesden Green.

No, it’s the D78 RAT.

A certainty. There’s around a dozen trains trapped south of Neasden and unable to enter the depot, and these will now likely have to outstable. A limited number of trains are available at the top end of the line, but it’s been a ten-train shuttle service running since about 5pm.

TfL are now advertising no service south of Harrow until early afternoon tomorrow, so I’d expect a similar service to happen from start of traffic tomorrow… thankfully I now have three days off.

As for the significance of this fire: the videos sum it up well, but it is worth stressing that the fire is not on LU premises or within the depot. It is a waste recycling centre/industrial estate opposite, and has over 100 fire fighters on site - it is a significant blaze. The nature of the site means that the smoke is also particularly hazardous, and this is what is causing the most concern, understandably.

Edit: No! It has not suspended the Chiltern Mainline, only the services via the Met are not running. I was confused at first but I assume it's because the site of the blaze is just north of Neasden junction and is situated closer to the Met, Jubilee and via Amersham Chiltern lines

No, only via the Met. The warehouse is in the V just to the north of Neasden South Junction, and the smoke isn’t affecting the Chiltern main side.

On a side note, why have Chiltern been terminating at Amersham? Surely they can reverse at Harrow via platform 2? This would help support a thin Met line service

This one and the previous ones at New Cross were at waste facilities. While we will have to wait and see if official causes are given for them, countrywide fires are being experienced in these places more often because of people disposing of unsafe batteries in improper ways.

At a guess the Met's biggest problem is probably that it can't access its depot at Neasden, which it would need to reverse at Wembley.

Quite the opposite, the rain (and water) makes the (again, toxic) smoke worse.

The stalled trains are now being moved. Services are still likely to start up early afternoon, but there won't be a full service until after 1800. Unlike National Rail, LU don't plug their resumption times out of thin air.

No (as per the TfL website).

I am of the understanding is that the reason that Chiltern can run is that they are non stop through the area. The Met & Jubilee can’t run as they can’t use Neasden depot because of the toxicity of the smoke (public info).

Neasden station remains closed.

Passed the site on an ex-Oxford train this morning, smoke still coning from the building's vents and Fire Service still there.

There met line was still struggling on Saturday morning.

• A provisional shuttle service from Uxbridge to Harrow was running from the southbound platform 6.
• Watford shuttles to Harrow were operating and arrived from Watford as usual into platform 5. I believe they went back to Watford from platform 3.
• London services from Harrow to Aldgate were suspended.

On Sunday, limited through services to Baker Street became advertised from around lunch time, with the shuttles still in operation. Potentially long gaps in the London service. Customers at Baker Street waiting for a northbound train in the afternoon were being advised to take the Jubilee Line to Wembley Park. I took a Chiltern service to Harrow from Marylebone instead, which was busy but still had seats available.

I could not see any smoke near the depot on Sunday.

Throughout the day there was some light drizzle and occasionally slightly stronger rain but I didn’t experience much heavy rain at all.

Communication from drivers was pretty good. The two Uxbridge trains I noticed leaving from platform 6 had the driver make an announcement that it wasn’t going into London and to take the approaching train on platform 5.

Glad I had the silver lining pleasure of “going backwards” from platform 6.
