Its great they used the Kirow cranes here for recover and haulage back to Cooksbridge.
The Electrostar has shown great resilience in this incidence and I would expect it has a good chance of returning to traffic

Network Rail Suusex have a new Twitter video up. They are planning on finishing earthworks Thursday than have 500m of track to replace and railways systems to reinstate.
Also in the video is a view of coach 7 being lifted which shows remarkable little damage on the side that was against the embankment.

The freight that has been stuck down at Newhaven Marine is being recovered tonight, running via Polegate and Hastings. Bet it is a while since a non p-way freight has been along there.

The Southern journey planner was saying that beyond a few days ahead, the timetabling might not be correct - so until an announcement about reopening I wouldn't necessarily trust the planner

The freight is almost certainly too long to run round in P4/5 at Lewes (it's only 6 or 7 cars long), and Platform 1 at Eastbourne (12 cars). It's also presumably too long to fit behind the signal at Brighton (platforms are 12car), hence running via Hastings (so reversing at Hampden Park).
Wishful thinking on my part!

Not booked but I captured this a while back.
Same principal except this only had 1 66. It ran around at Hampden park, left it's wagons there, down to Eastbourne, back up over the crossover .
And for info, there's a gbrf booked tomorrow morning as well to day aggs.

Further update from NR Sussex and embankment nearly complete with even the replacement troughing route in place. Over to track renewals tomorrow to reinstate the track and railway systems. Can't see them opening earlier but with the rate of progress being made but I still believe they could.
