Wasn't there a a passenger on a VTEC service some years ago that decided he fancied a pizza and so rang the Dominos nearest to Darlington and placed his order and the staff allowed the delivery guy onto the platform to hand it over... Made the national news as I recall

I've done it at Exeter on the Night Riviera. Had to bail, go and grab it, and then come back though. It wasn't brought to the train like the one I think you're thinking of at Tamworth IIRC.

Absolute tripe. I've travelled on Lumo a few times and never once witnessed somebody order a delivery to a train. I think you'd notice if 78 people on a Lumo East Coast service ordered a pizza to be delivered to their train.

Yes but if Lewis Capaldi orders a pizza and gets it delivered to his house it doesn't make the news. It is an extremely rare sight. I've seen it happen once in about 20 years.

When we stopped somewhere (Palmerston possibly) the station call seemed to be taking along time. It was then I noticed a pizza delivery driver handing over a huge stack of pizzas for the kid's tea. Only then did we proceed on our way

That wouldn't happen on a departure from London Paddington!

Pizza is amongst the more off-putting hot food smells for passengers not taking up the option.

Eurostar used to sell full pizzas in their on-board cafe to take back to your seat.

A lot of the low cost airlines, Ryanair, Easyjet etc also do microwaved (or the plane oven equivalent!) pizza slices or similar throughout the year which generally sell out quite quickly.

This piqued my interest.

The collection is only at Preston, where there's a scheduled break in service.

A Crewe to Preston LumoFixed ticket is available for £3.90 without a Railcard. That's worth it just for the pizza

The seat reservation expires once the train arrives at Preston; the terms do say "as long as they are on the train when it travels through Preston".

Two trains running without accesible toilets today. Passengers requiring such a toilet advised to contact staff in order to make alternative arrangements.
