Some timetables pulling through now on bus times.
28 via Kirk brae and station road to gilmerton terminus.
37a and 39a 2 am trips and 1 pm trip
32 is hourly over existing route and hourly balerno to cramond so needs 5 buses now
The 72 timetable is also there if you change the date manually.

So the 28 has quite an interesting route it seems, and the 32 will be running via Davidson Mains!

Can't seem to get the timetables for the 32/72 or X18 and X19

Looks like the X5 is being reduced to every 2 hours in off peak! Plus it is finishing earlier too!

Terminus and starting point change to match the 124 at Usher Hall and Semple Street (Which makes sense).

Not sure how they come to that decision as sometimes it is standing loads from Bankton Junction towards the City. Unless there is a new service being introduced to be run a combined every hour? Tried to find a new service timetable but unfortunately couldn't see one.

That's not going to go down very well with the locals, but glad they are bringing it back to Semple Street again!

Saw this as well, there must be something hiding in the works as this can be a pretty busy service even in the off peak.

Could this be hiding something to or through Blindwells then? (e.g. Semple St - NB church road via Blindwells?)

Agreed with Semple Street.

With Blindwells expanding rapidly, it just doesn't make sense, it would be interesting to know how they come to this decision!

Even with it running double deckers it has been 90% full running to the Fringe by the Sea event.

Hopefully something is hiding in the works!

Even a shorter route service to run Semple Street to Longniddry would be a bonus.

I had a look on Traveline Scotland and I can see the N35 is now getting 3 journeys each way (3 Ocean Terminal - Heriot-Watt, 1 Slateford - Ocean Terminal, 1 Heriot-Watt - Ocean Terminal & a 0414 Heriot-Watt - Central Depot via Royal Mile (presumably replacing the N25's 0414 journey)

The 45 Sunday service will extend to Marine Roundabout

The X19 will run via Deer Park, with the frequency being every hour.

For some reason I couldn't see the N25 journeys from the City Centre past the service change date.

Looks like it may be cost cutting measures after all. The X7 is getting cut from every 20 mins -> 30 mins outside of the peaks. Haddington will be fuming at that one.

Massive reduction compared to when they started messing with the 106/X6. Theyre down to 2x single deck X7s per hour unless you fancy going on a county tour with the 106. At least Dunbar and East Linton have the train.

You can see the times of the X18 and X19 on Traveline Scotland, but the timetable is not available for download.

Got em, for some reason the Morning 30 mins peak are gone heading citybound, but the evening one is still there.

Called the 45 getting extended at one point, now if we can just get it past the garage again.. :D

Cuts cuts cuts, its never positive changes in East Lothian these days, folk will say it all went downhill after the X6 was sent to peak time only and when the 26 left tranent.

Speaking of the 106/X6, any changes on that front?

Unfortunatly the 32 is still not getting a sunday service it seems, unless it hasen't come up on the timetable yet, i can only hope this extension will prove to be popular.

No changes to the 106/X6 from what I can see. Still a bit of a jumbled mess with short runnings here there and everywhere.

That service change of dialling back the popular X6, cutting the 26 and introducing the (not so express)X4 might be a contender for the worst change in recent years.

East Coast Buses is struggling for drivers so the driver allocation has to go down. Went down by 3 drivers I believe
This would make sense as to why cuts are being made, although I feel this may turn people away in the long run.

Given a shortage of drivers it makes sense to scale back the X5 over the winter period at least. As regards the X7 my casual observation off peak is that loadings probably do not justify a 20 minute frequency.

20 minutes was abit overkill in my opinion, especially when the rest of the network has at least a 30 min frequency on other corridors, (or 40 mins now because of how much Lothian love that frequency number)

All i can say is, i can envision the facebook comments..

Noticed the 3am 18 is now starting at Newington before running to Kaimes, maybe to try and pick up some extra patronage?

I think this is an error. Looks to be both timetables sitting on top of each other. Otherwise both journeys are leaving Balerno at near enough the same time.

I did notice that now there is an earlier journey leaving Balerno now on weekdays because of the change!

Announcement:

Ingliston P&R removed from the 17 and 18 is bad news. Silverknowes terminus made permanent on the 29. Service 7 increased to every 15 minutes.

Yes agreed. Data a bit messy at the moment. No end dates on existing timetables.

Wow! so now no non-coach bus serves them?

29’s terminus appears to be at the main terminus rather than the shops. Wonder how that works? Or if it’s simply an error.

Can’t help but feel the 28 fails a bit by missing out Rodney Street. This would’ve offered the students a faster link to the Central Area and King’s Buildings, but it is what it is.

Agreed, no idea why they went ahead and did that, so inconvenient, not like they are saving time missing the park and ride

Believe it or not taking it out saves about 3 minutes each way. The 17 is horrendously unreliable so anything that helps goes a long way. The demand is tiny.

I would say it's an error. Not so sure on the wording of "buses no longer serving Silverknowes Promenade simply to turn/terminate" either, feels a bit messy, unless I'm looking too much into it!

Also Lothian clearly remaining committed to the 31 routing via West Craigs even if it's not made possible yet and despite community push back.

None of the Lothian Country improvements seem to be worthy of being a "key change". Also quite a bit of shushing on the East Coast buses North Berwick corridor reductions, no direct mention of frequency adjustments other than saying "a reduction in customer demand on the North Berwick bus corridor has necessitated a review of the number of journeys provided across the day. " - it can't be too hard to say "reduced to every 2 hours"?

Change in route to the N35 running via waterloo place and north bridge westbound, the N31 and N44 seem to be split aswell both now running from Central

I think it looks as if the NightBuses are all being Central run again, as the N1 now does a full loop every night as well. The N31 also returning to the city, again.

It's been reported on this forum that a lack of drivers has neccesitated the reduction in services at East Coast - yet they have stated that this is due to customer demand diminishing. Are we witnessing Lothian being internationally disingenuous to cover their own back?

It’s probably an over exaggeration of A (the demand) to facilitate B (the lack of resources).

Given ECB’s tight resources. Just further proves how silly the X4 really was.
