Not exactly no, I only used the one given which if I’m correct is the opc one. I found it something I was comfortable with as it pretty much patterns. Is there anything you are wanting to know or struggling on? I did mine back in march
Mate I am struggling to understand the fault code, if you could help me to understand.

Also the material sent for OPC would be the same to expect for the test.
From memory the fault code would be what you have identified the fault to be from the images. You will have a list of fault codes and what the symptoms of the individual faults would be and all you need to do is look at the images and put the fault code that applies to each image.
OPC sells more practice material for the DFFT

Please I’ve got my assessment coming up at go-ahead house and would be glad if anyone could help with what to expect and how to prep (materials). Do you sit for all 8/9 (incl MMI) test same day or does it come in stages where you get to do stage 1 on the day the stage 2 other time? Thank you in advance.

Hi Mate Thanks. I had stage 1 on a day and stage 2 another day. So if you could check your email it should mention what exams to be taken in your upcoming assessment day.

I am so excited. 6 months ago I registered my interest for a job with Scotrail. Then a few weeks ago I got a e mail
saying that I had been short listed for a job that came up. So I did the first assessment. Then got the news I passed that
Then the second harder assessment ( due to the job being a safety based role ) Then found out today that I also
passed that. I got a e-mail asking me to come in for a interview. I am excited !!
Happy that I passed the two assessments. More so the second one as I read that the pass mark was high for that ?
I am looking to see if anyone can give me any pointers or info on the interview?

For me it was tough. Lots to check for error finding 20 question in 15 mins.

Yea got this but been told it’s not like this?
Waiting for my result. What I remember is we have 1 engine and 1 carriage image with engine has 4 aspects to check for fault and carriage has 2 aspects to check for fault. Also information will be given which needs priority. Then needs to check the Fault finder guide for fault code. Cannot remember the fault finder guide details as it has lot of information to check. Hope this helps you.

Yes i did it at TOC headoffice in person and it was conducted by OPC.

So appreciate this isn't directly train driver related however I currently hold valid enhanced passes for both stage 1 & 2 plus MMI. I am looking to transition into other railway roles whilst waiting to hopefulyl secure a trainee driver position, as I know it can take years and am keen to get into the industry.
I have an upcoming interview for a station manager role, however it says on the invite that there will be some OPC assesments done on the interview day as it is a safety critical role. I do not know what these will be but I cant imagine they will be the same as the driver tests, however my question is if I were to fail these would that then get rid of my current passes?

I think the tests are unrelated. If you sat another Group Bourdon and failed it then you're correct they would count the recent fail and not your previous pass, however it's highly unlikely they'd make you sit any of the tests that you did for a trainee driver role as part of the Station Manager recruitment process so you should be grand.
I'm only guessing here but I'd imagine the OPC assessments that they've mentioned are related to a train dispatch competency that you'd be expected to maintain. For your peace of mind, if that's the case, then having personally sat and passed both dispatch and train driver psychometrics, the dispatch tests are far less arduous than the driver ones.
If there's other management psychometrics that I'm unaware of then apologies, but I've never heard of such a thing. Best of luck in your application though!

Thank you so much for your response! Makes sense that I would only loose my pass if i re took the tests I have already done! However if I do new tests and fail it would not affect my current passes as they most likely would not be required for trainee train driver role.

Sorry to bother you all, im sure this will probably be a stupid question... but are you able to sit psychometric tests on your own?
I ask as I was trying to apply to a trainee scheme but they want a 'passed' psychometric test from within the last 5 years. Ive not had any luck finding this on my own via Google and Bing... just not wanting to miss my shot
