National Rail says major disruption between Lewes and Haywards Heath will continue "until further notice".

Southern says it has requested rail replacement buses, although these have not yet been confirmed.

Passengers can use their tickets on a number of alternative routes, including:

• Southern services between Brighton and London Victoria
• Thameslink services between Brighton and London Victoria
• Gatwick Express services between Brighton and London Victoria
• London Underground services between London terminals
• Selected Brighton & Hove Buses routes

Passengers are advised to check before travelling as disruption continues across the network.

Looks like the Southern Journey Check website has been updated and is now saying that there is ticket acceptance on Southeastern services between Hastings and London terminals.

There are extra carriages on Brighton-Hastings and Brighton-Seaford where possible. There is ticket acceptance on various rail services and busesm but no diversions. Southern's website (and National Rail Enquiries etc) have the full list.

Today the Eastbourne+ trains are cancelled throughout, I don't know what the longer-term plan is.

Curious - why are the cancelled trains still showing up in journey planners? I thought they’d have been taken out of the timetable. I booked a journey from Lewes to Saxmundham the other day for tomorrow and it was trying to put me on services that I know will be cancelled!

Train split - travelling tomorrow. When I booked yesterday all the usual London trains showed up as options. I booked via Brighton tho.

They are uploading the short-term plan on a day-by-day basis. Presumably they are hoping for an improvement on the Glynde-Polegate section (18min performance allowance is spectacular!)?

a related question. Today I’m travelling from Inverurie to Lewes, booked pre incident. If I go via Brighton I’ll be 15 mins late, if I go via Haywards Heath and the bus I’ll be over 30 mins late. Is delay payable in the circumstances?
