Do you think Lothian will wait until next week to publish it's details about there service changes?

Also with the issues with the destination screens maybe complain directly to Lothian customers services, making it clear if the bus is in a depot where its darker no one spot this issue.

Maybe the changes are delayed due to the Princes Street fire and Lothian deciding not to submit any change applications till they had a clearer picture of timeframes for partial or full reopening of it?

If the commissioner does the job properly then registrations should be up on Monday as they've been submitted. Knowing them, they will be published in January next year.

This has probably been asked before on this thread but are U22 bus passes not valid on the 100 during Night Bus hours?

Asking as I am planning a trip on some Night Buses this weekend and I plan on either getting a Late Ticket or just capping my fares for the night buses (which to my understanding the 100 is also not valid on both).

The N100 no longer exists and hasn’t for quite a number of years now. The 100 is effectively a 24/7 ‘daytime’ service and as such will accept them all day. Its fares irrespective of just the NEC are the same all day.

Citylink’s 900 also went the same way after they scrapped the N900 and opted to run the 900 24/7 as a sole route.

It's like the old N200/N400 when they got retransferred back to the 17/18, the 3am journeys became part of the Daytime services.

Gotta say I feel for the owners of the NEC passes as having them not valid on night services are very convient.

Lothian and McGill's is the only Night bus services you can't use them on now, They're valid on Aberdeens & Glasgow's, No too bad if you live Along Corstorphine way though still being able to use the 100 Airlink and the Citylink 900

Waterloo Place seems to be getting worse, it doesn't look like any vehicles are respecting the No Waiting cones which then means there's nowhere near enough room for the East Coast buses to terminate without double parking and blocking the road.

Interesting developments in Volvo Electric world, the first BERL (I.e electric 3 axle double decker version of BZL) has been seen in HongKong, do we think this is something Lothian would be interested in.
Given they have both ~100 BZL currently on property with 40 more ordered (or planning to order, unclear), albeit with different body, and 20 Electronliners on order (or again planned to), it could be quite the fight between the three axle electroliner and the BERL when it comes to the next city order of tri-axles.

I don’t think these are in any way suitable yet for LCB or ECB or even Airlink running but are certainly worth thinking about for city use.

Does anyone know what the plan is to get the in-bus passenger next stop announcements / diversion announcements and screens updated to cover the present diversions around Princes Street? I was on two service 31s today, neither of them updated (example bus 1123 and I suppose it might have been the same vbehicle both times). In both cases the verbal announcements and the screens showed the next stop as Princes Street West until we had diverted round, and past, that stop. The diversions have been in place for a while now, and I'd have thought that this might have been completely dealt with by now.

Most vehicles in the fleet show the updated arrangements, however only vehicles with the new announcement system can show live diversions.

Thanks. Since this morning's journeys, I've also been on a 26 (no announcements or visual indication of diversion) and an X19 (both audible and visible indication).

Would 1 bus out of 4 (that's 0 buses out of 3 in the city fleet) having been suitably modified be considered generally adequate for the peak tourist traffic, or was I somehow very unlucky on these random hourneys?

It is most likely a product that's only for testing with their intended market in Hong Kong, hence it isn't on the Volvo website at the minute. Definitely not just enthusiast wibble though as it is seen across several different reliable Hong Kong sources as well as many of the groups.

I was thinking the same thing but yesterday early afternoon (Friday) there wasn't an unauthorised parked vehicle to be seen. Only a couple of East Coast buses parked up so it looked remarkably empty.

Other vehicles are not supposed to be parked anywhere along the eastbound carriageway at Waterloo Place from the junction with Leith Street to the junction with Calton Hill. There are cones out and notices on all the roadside poles.

I guess this will be the first time we only have one B5TL with a certain animal (470 - Monkey).
I would have gone for 464, 496 or even 472 which is the most faded decker in the fleet as it didn't get the same level of treatment externally that the others did.
