Stormy Corner featured as one of the stops on skelmersdale bound buses in the last century when I was looking through the Railway Media Timetables and upon a quick search, I discovered this was named after a village which no longer exists. United Counties had timing points at Kate's Cabin and Kisby's Hut - just slightly 'strange'. The former was a cafe where the routes to Peterborough crossed the A1 and the latter at an air base near Huntingdon (ex Eastern National Midland Area) Eastern National had 'Dangerous Corner' on blinds (I think) in their retained area.

I was on on the 84 Crewe-Chester and noticed it has quite a few strange stop names, including
Peacock Hotel, Gingerbread Lane, Frog & Ferret, Oddfellow Arms, Snugbury's, Headless Woman, Steam Mill and The Bars
I suspect, as here, the vast majority of strange bus stop names are inherited from strange pub names!

Coastliner serve a stop called Broken Bridge in Tadcaster. Whenever I hear "we are now approaching Broken Bridge" on the auto announcer my brain can't help hearing a hysterical American voice shouting "oh no the bridge is out"

Many of these are of course amusing (there is also a Bottom Flash near Crewe) but Oddfellows Arms are very common in the North West (maybe not in the West Country?)
The Oddfellows were just a medieval guild for people who didn't have a guild to join.
So trades like Builders, Joiners etc had their own guilds (and there are pubs all over the country called The Builders Arms, The Joiners Arms etc named for the guilds' ceremonial coats of arms), hence The Oddfellows Arms were just for small merchants without a dedicated guild.

The old Hants & Dorset (18, 19 or 20) used to stop at the Cat & Fiddle pub on the A35 in the village of Hinton Admiral just east of Christchurch.

I don't know if this strictly counts but a number of hospitals have a bus stop either called Dementia Lane or Dementia Stop which is, sweetly, where those who suffer from the terrible condition who try to make an escape can often be found as it will be (though not always) a full bus stop with a bench, up to date timetables and the idea as I understand is that those wanting to leave the hospital see a bus stop and wait there until a Nurse can come along and suggest they "come inside for a cuppa as its a bit nippy" while they wait for the bus
Yes, the ward my partner works on has one of these and they are well used stops. But hers does not have a name.

One can only sadly guess at the "ridership" numbers for these... Perhaps not all places have named stops
Still, perhaps the saddest and most unusual stop in the thread
I've seen them on the continent too where occasionally the local company or companies will drive an empty bus past a home or hospital to maintain the illusion of a functional service

Todmorden used to have a weekly free bus to that Tesco, odd as it now seems.
In the early days of my driving career in the Calder Valley in the late 1980s, I regularly encountered a van emblazoned 'Sudden Joinery' - I used to wonder if they just turned up out of the blue and put in fitted wardrobes you weren't expecting
.A decade earlier on holiday in Cornwall, I had been intrigued by the timing point of 'Wilcove, Tanks' on the A374 north of Torpoint, particularly given the area's military connections. When I eventually rode past it, I found it was actually next to the entrance to an oil storage tank farm - sadly I see the stop is now marked as 'Wilcove Turn' on Google Maps.

There used to be a Glasgow destination "Normal School". It was a teacher training centre. As previously mentioned, Shetland has two stops called "Tw@tt Road End".

Again, although strange (even archaic) sounding nowadays, 'Normal School' (for anyone who doesn't know) has long been the name for a teacher training centre in many places.

Near Ashurst there is a bus stop called "Bald Face Stag", which is occasionally used for rail replacement buses.
Obviously named after the adjacent pub, just that the pub no longer exists. Must have closed 15-20 years ago and it's now a house.
Must be fun trying to find the bus stop when engineering work is taking place, as it's a mile or so from the station.

The bus service I really need to ride is the NXWM 530 from Wolverhampton to Rocket Pool. Sounds a fascinating place and bus legend Mark Fitchew has been there

Presumably most of these come from pubs, as bus stops (and indeed railway stations) often do.
I was going to note Crooked Usage, but see it was mentioned much earlier in the thread - this is on Hendon Lane in Finchley, named after a side road of the same title which is rather well-to-do! I highly recommend having a look on Rightmove!

Given the 530 is predominantly run by Banga Buses (a name you really don't want anywhere near the word "Rocket" in any other context...), you might be waiting a while for the NX journeys that run Sunday daytimes only.
Historically, the 530 has been a hotbed for competition over the years - with Banga and Travel West Midlands competing on it until 2008, when TWM withdrew their 530 journeys, and later Arriva starting on there in 2013 (which made them the primary operator, as they ran the evening and Sunday service) and continuing on there until 2015 for the daytimes, and 2017 for the tendered journeys.
Made for a heck of a contrast when Arriva could put a ex-London Mini Dart and an ex-London DAF/ALX on journeys next to each other, whilst you had Banga using clapped out non-DDA Solos on their trips.
Otherwise, Rocket Pool is just a generic council estate in Bilston with not much there, other than the aforementioned Rocket Pool (and no other services anymore, since the 53 was curtailed to Bilston in 2023.)
