Nothing scheduled yet. When are these trains going to be tested on the Uxbridge branch?
What actually changes in terms of the signalling, given that the line is not being re-signalled?Nothing scheduled yet.
There is a 5-day closure at the end-of October, to commission signalling changes in South Harrow sidings to allow 2024 Stock use.
No details yet, a guess would be co-acting signals which have so far been provided at almost all other signals on the Piccadilly, despite no funding for resignalling. What actually changes in terms of the signalling, given that the line is not being re-signalled?
I hear the aim of first passenger service in December 2026 has been binned and now aiming for "Spring" 2027.Much work still needs to be done to allow any passenger operations however.
Last document I saw said, "Testing in traffic hours will start in September". No further detail yet though. The recent test train runs towards Heathrow would have clarified the gauging, platform alignment and track quality works required.
Anyone heard target date for running test trains in amongst normal service trains ( in approved areas such as Cockfosters - Arnos or Northfields - Hammersmith
Could you send the document pleaseLast document I saw said, "Testing in traffic hours will start in September". No further detail yet though.
No. It's for internal use only.Could you send the document please
Okay that’s fine no worries at all.No. It's for internal use only.
The amount of times this sentiment has been stated. Yet every time lessons are quickly forgotten due to pressure from senior management and/or those who do know, not being heeded by senior management or just leaving.Londoners need this new train but the scale of work to achieve this was sadly underestimated. We should all hope the necessary focus and skills are used to pull this together ASAP.
And lessons learnt for BLU !!!
This I'm not surprised about. At this point let's just pray it gets into service before this decade ends.I hear the aim of first passenger service in December 2026 has been binned and now aiming for "Spring" 2027.
No, only during engineering possessions with little interaction with existing trains, except around Acton Town.I thought testing during traffic hours had already taken place.
That's a very pessimistic view,This I'm not surprised about. At this point let's just pray it gets into service before this decade ends.
I know right and Bakerloo upgrades maybe by 2040.This I'm not surprised about. At this point let's just pray it gets into service before this decade ends.
Yes the hand downs from the Piccadilly line. Just rename it to the Heritage Line.I know right and Bakerloo upgrades maybe by 2040.
Well what do you expect with so much red taping and things that should have been ironed out and this is not the first time in a project this has occurred but let me not talk too muchThat's a very pessimistic view,
That is correct.I take it this will come through the channel tunnel at some point, possibly after a visit to Wildenrath?

Thanks for sharing !Took a couple of snaps in the depot today, sadly 48032 is already looking a bit grubby.

Incidentally, did someone ask what that little door was in the front cab door, next to the handle? Forgive me if I've mis-remembered the questioner, but it's the flap that reveals the communication socket for the communication cable that would connect two 9-car trains after coupling together in an emergency.
I hadn't previously noticed the step built in to the coupler, presumably to allow easy access/egress to the M door for staff - not particularly necessary on previous stocks with the far smaller Wedgelocks.
It's quite cute tbh![]()
My concern would be the local yoofs 'surfing' on the back. I believe Siemens are looking at mitigating that step somehow.I hadn't previously noticed the step built in to the coupler...
