I had a phone call yesterday saying there is space on a course for August the 3rd but had to decline it due to booked commitments and due to the short notice

That’s a real shame, fingers crossed you don’t get overlooked now
The lady who called me said I am still at the top of the talent pool and will contact me in about 2 weeks when she is back from AL to discuss future dates.
She said she was just trying her luck really but expected me to say no due to the very late notice.

Which depot? I had mine in April for Birmingham , applied in October and my course starts in 2 weeks ☺️
Exciting, well done and good luck - would you mind sharing what the timescales looked like inbetween DMI and medical/DBS/course loading notification please?

Every depot is different ✨It also depends how many positions are available at the time, so don’t worry if yours don’t line up with mine x

I applied for the job October, had to sit the online assessment (spatial ability) in the November…

Then sat my psychometric on their first available date in January and then had to wait until end of April for my DMI.

I was told how well you do on your (scoring) depends how soon you get offered your job position if successful. As I scored highest, I got offered first.

Then had my medical at the end of April

course starts August (Monday) ✨

Has anyone who applied for the Derby depot heard anything about potential driver courses?

I was told that I'd passed the DMI and have been placed into the talent pool, but I haven't been told where I sit in terms of priority within that pool.

They also mentioned there might be a Derby driver course towards the end of this year, although they thought it was more likely to be next year.

Has anyone heard anything similar, or been given any more information about potential course dates?

Congratulations to all those that have passed their assessments and DMI! I bet you can't wait to get started, and finally get on a course.

I'm hoping I'll be able to join you all at some point, as I have my DMI next week!

Is there any advice or tips anyone can offer? NGL I'm extremely nervous for it  any wisdom would definitely be most welcome.

Thank you
Bristol
Medical, reference and DBS is done first
I have a slight issue that might cause a issue with the medical but I have spoke to a couple doctors who all have said I should be all good so fingers crossed.

I have been told a start date of 5th October
Once all checks done then contract issued
