Squires Gate to Chesterfield / Sat 8 August

Looking at a Squires Gate to Chesterfield on Sat 8 August, some ticket engines are coming up with no journeys found (northern) whereas others (Avanti) are showing the journey I’d regularly take.

I know EMR have some disruption at the moment but didn’t think it would affect the regional route.

Any ideas?

Couldn't see any fares offered on Northern's ticketing site, either, for Squires Gate to Chesterfield on Saturday. What's going on?

P.S. How are "Route EMR & TPE ONLY" advance singles meant to work for a journey such as Squires Gate to Chesterfield? Surely any trip starting from Squires Gate has to be by using Northern, at least on the initial part of the journey (as far as Preston) that is.

The forum ticket site is showing a bus as part of the journey with an Anytime Single, but no mention of a bus for split-ticket options.

Not quite sure, and I can't seem to find any cases of it being available.

The restriction code (AR) is just EMR & Connections, but presumably the route overrides the possibility of it ever showing up.

Whereas enabling splits gives your journey from Northern, which bypasses Sheffield

There‘s engineering works for the next 3 weekends between Chesterfield and Nottingham. EMR Liverpool to Norwich trains are not calling at Sheffield and Northern are running replacement buses between Sheffield and Nottingham. There‘s a much reduced train service between Sheffield and Chesterfield with those 2 trains each hour missing and also the RMT strike means a limited EMR Sheffield to London service. If you get the hourly direct EMR train between Manchester and Chesterfield there should be no problem.

Ah, useful to know. That information seems not to be on the National Rail site under Planned Works.

I haven’t looked at prices but until I read about the rail replacement bus I was going to suggest if it’s the cheaper option and if your happy to go the long way you could get the £35 northern explorer ( valid only on northern trains ) and gone either squires gate - Preston - Manchester Piccadilly - Sheffield - Chesterfield OR Squires Gate - Preston - Leeds -Sheffield - Chesterfield
